Tyson claimed more than once that his best punch was his right-hand and that he was frustrated by not catching guys with it more often. When it landed, it certainly looked to be his strongest. And then, Lennox Lewis. Awesome power all-round, but the right-hand was a thing of beauty.
And there's the one we meant Chinx, unless we weren't on the same page before (when we said the other obvious heavyweight one)
Not 1 shout for ALi? Ali's right was beautiful, so fast and accurate plus he could lead with it. Obviously not a brutal right for the main part, but a beautiful 1
I was actually thinking this guy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6PK_1E_wBc But this one wasn't so bad either... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsO66Oqm7pY
Arguello for me had the best it was perfect the best composite puncher ever. was talking about this in the gym today.
i think danny lopez's power in his right hand pulled him through many many times. it was straight, compact and very text book.
I can't begin too explain or for you too understand what effect the way this fight ended had on us back then but i think one word is about near & it's boxing HIROSHIMA, NAGASAKI, x ****in 10:yikes Forget all the reasons for & against, the whole world was in shock, it was global news, even people who had no idea what a boxing glove was were all talking about it or winding their arms up like Leonard, of course the world all knew who Leonard was, he was the new sweetheart/darling of the masses & Duran was the bad *******, the man in black, the bogeyman, everything a young man should'nt be ect. Looking back it appears too me now that it was celebrated as a victory of good over evil by a lot of people, Duran had the rep of being the "High Priest of Violence" the bully & everything that was bad:smoke So when you get this loonatic ending 2 this very special fight, & it was'nt any old world title fight it was treated as a crusader victory over the infidel. I got 2 work the next day not knowing the result & all i saw on site were a load of brickies doing the Leonard arm wind up that had been on early morning TV, i refused too believe it, my mouth went dry, i just said **** off you ****s, bull****! but everyone in the canteen were raving over it, well over 60 blokes, i stood paralysed just unable 2 take in this loony wind-up, i felt like the ceiling was crashing down on me, NO NO NO **** off, what really happended i pleaded trying too get some sense out of these ****s who were all raving over Sugar Ray. Then i got this: a chippy piped up that Leonard made a right ****** out of that other bloke, what do you mean i asked, what ****in happended for **** sake, the chippy said the other guy just threw his hands in the air & stormed out the ring, he ****in just quit fighting, ****in crazy:shock: i felt SICK/DIZZY & i just stumbled around in absolute disbelief totally unable 2 take in what i'd just been told & also told by people who had no interest in boxing made it all the more gutting + every ****er knew i was 4 Duran so it did'nt take long for the most grevious **** taking too begin:verysad But thats what Duran's phychi was all about i think, as we know what with all the intregue by leonards camp, i now accept that it was just a moment of madness & as far as Duran was concerned he was the champ & was being disrespected & in his world he was doing the correct & brave thing by telling Leonard 2 **** off:smoke But it did'nt end that way did it:huh Alot has obviously been made of this by way of propaganda from the leonard brigade, but that is down too absolute & total fear + relief that the bogeyman has been chased away, the nightmare is over & bring out the boxing sunshine, i could'nt have given a **** about the scoring of the fight i just wanted Duran 2 smash the **** out of Leonard, not that i did'nt like leonard, i just hated the ****s that followed him, the world was split into 2 camps US & them:bbb STILL IS & ALLWAYS WILL BE:smoke
