No problem. Pac knocks Cotto's ass, He and Mayweather fight for the vacant WBO belt.

Having the fight at 147 gives Pac a getout excuse. If he loses he can say he was fighting too high in weight and drop back down to 135/40.

I don't think his legacy will be effected as he shouldn't really be fighting big WWs anyway.

Cotto is no *****. That's ridiculous. It doesn't matter if 145 is still welter weight, he should be allowed to weigh in at 147 if Pac wants to take the title away. It's logical and it should be that way. I'm not saying that Cotto is going to be drained for sure, that's bull**** too, it's 1 pound less than he weighed at the Clottey fight. So the outcome is probably going to be the same. But still, it shouldn't be for the title.

It's not that Cotto thinks he's going to lose, it's more like, he doesn't want to bow down to everything Pac asks for. Pac got the catchweight (a reasonable catchweight) that's enough.

yup! at 147 and pacman wins, there would be no excuse of people saying "He lost because he lost 2lbs"

    It's just common sense

You want the welterweight belt then its 147

You cant become a welterweight champ by winning a fight at 145

Not it's not bowing yet. If he agrees to put the title on the line, then yes, that's bowing to everything.

The limit to fight for this title is 147. So Cotto has the right to refuse to fight for the belt if he can't make 147. Is it that hard to understand?

You want a fair fight? Alright with me but no belt.

Yes you can. You are between 141 and 147.
But you can't force a guy to fight at a specific weight and hope to take the belt unless the opponent agrees.

    :patsch

Cotto wants the right to be at 147 (if the belt is to be on the line). He doesnt care about Manny's weight :patsch
