Didnt pav say he wasnt invited to the tourney? (why would sauerland want him there??) anyways, fair post my man. but i will say that its hard to call what bhop ever does a blueprint b/c there really isnt anyone else like him. pwilly and bhop really arent anything alike at all. bhop is slick and relies on a more pragmatic approach depending on who his opponent is and how they come out and neutralizes their strengths w/ lateral movement and awkward angles. bhop isnt the most active puncher either (which probably cost him the joe c decision). pwilly on the other hand isnt a defensive wizard by any means. regardless of who he fights, he just throws and throws (which is real fun to watch and a testament to his stamina). he gets hit and gets hit flush...which didnt seem to bother him too much at ww but this is pav at mw and no one has been able to stand up to his power. so it will be real interesting to see what kind of chin and what kind of pop pwilly brings to a pav fight at 160. b/c if he doesnt have much pop, pav will walk right through everything he throws and catch pwilly w/ flush rights...and we will see how he handles a flush shot from pav. i really hope this fight happens.
I agree with you on that point. Hopkins is so good it looks like a blueprint-t most guys cannot do what he does. But I am curious to see what happens when Williams fights a guy as big as he is and who can punch.
williams will keep his distance and keep throwing punches when pavlik gets inside hold n push create more distance n p williy will keep throwin from such a far range n land wit ease and pavlik will b too far away to land a punch .
Firstly, PW won't be enjoying the frankly laughable size advantages he has over his other opponents. Pdub trying to beat Pavlik to the punch from the outside would be like trying to beat Mike Tyson on the inside. Secondly, PW doesn't have B-Hop's movement. He stands in range while he gets off. He's open for an exchange. Only a very special kind of fighter can do what Popkins did. Pdub isn't that fighter.
Williams cannot be effective by "keeping his distance." Overall reach is almost meaningless. His arm length advantage is only 1"; same as Miranda had.
I have no idead why guys like you continue to deny the fact that Pavlik had bronchitis and an elbow injury. The elbow injury was widely reported before the fight. Thomas Hauser reported the illness afterward. He was in the locker room on fight night, and based his report on hearing the conversation between Pavlik and the comission doctor, and the actual medical records he saw with his own eyes. Staying in denial not only makes you look stupid, it also makes it look like you are proud of being stupid.
So what are you saying? That if Pavlik was 100% that he would've been competitive? Or he might've won 1 round? LOL. OK, 2? How many flush shots did Pavlik land on Hopkins? I counted maybe 1 or 2.
Even though Kelly only had to get to 170 for this fight, he only rehydrated a couple of pounds. His unofficial weigh in was pretty much fully clothed and reported at the hospital later that night as 172! For a guy that walks around between 180/85 between fights? Hopkins/Taylor and Hopkins/Pavlik was at different weights, but you really believe a healthy Pavlik shouldn't have been more competitive? Watch between rounds where he has a foot of snot haning from his nose. This one isn't hard to get to the bottom of for the truth.
OK. Now you are just trying to be stupid as if it is some badge of honor. I guess in your world....:nut
Actually if Pavlik was 100% there is simply no way to know anything except it would have been a different fight. Apart from Hopkins/Pavlik when did you ever see Kelly wandering around the ring doing nothing? The elbow injury forced him to cut out half his normal sparring and most of his strength and weight training. If you've had bronchitis, well, then you know it isn't pleasant. At 100% He would have been able to force the fight a lot more. That could mean anything from getting knocked the **** out to losing in a really good fight. Either way it would have actually been a better win for BHop.
