Prior to 2008, the lowest prime-time HBO World Championship Boxing rating ever for a live telecast was 2.8. You did 2.5 for Mosley-Mayorga and Hatton-Malignaggi, 2.3 for Taylor-Lacy, and 2.0 for Pavlik-Lockett.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: In the history of HBO this kid is the worst rated ever!

    C'mon!

Its not like Williams is pricing himself out ... what established fighter would take a fight ... no gate and revenue ... its obvious that Kels has a solid fan base but lets not get him confused with Pacquiao or DLH ... he's just average ... if you want numbers look at his ratings against Lockett or look at the PPV's with Hopkins and Rubio.

Fascinating thread I started here. Pavlik is the champ, and Pavlik is a much bigger draw than Williams. Top Rank's offer is more than generous. It's a career high pay day for Williams, and a shot at the champion of boxings 2nd most prestigious division.

I couldn't help but notice that the detractors are the same old Pavlik haters, and I also noticed they ain't throwin' down any dollar amounts for Williams/Dzindiruk. If PW ends up taking on a lesser opponent for less money he's a ****ing FRAUD.

Pavlik fighting some BUM, STIFF, Tomato Can, or No-Hoper on a Short Money Top Rank PPV card does nothing for his standing, exsposure, or career overall.

HBO is where the money is @ - and currently Pavlik has no HBO date.

So Pavlik and Arum can put on Short Money Top Rank PPV cards that NO ONE [outside of Youngstown] will buy from now until the cows come home. Does nothing for Pavlik but keep him busy.

He moved up to fight hopkins and fell short you cant blame him for that, look at his wins over Taylor, Zertuche, and Miranda that speaks for itself.

Who has Paul beat? and old Winky? Margarito? who? and how did he beat those guys? sorry but Pavlik has done more lately Paul has not in fact Paul and Goosen dont even know what weight class they want to fight in

You guys can talk money figures, gate, promotions, advertisement and purse allocations all you want. Everyone knows i am a huge Pwill fan. I was a fan before he was popular and seen him fight live before he was even in the mix.

However, This is a very risky fight for pwill. I think he can win, but lets face it. Pwill isnt the greatest defensive fighter in the game and Pavlik can bang. Pwill is a true WW and he is moving up to 160 where he will be matched in size. I know pwill has a good beard but I am not sure he can take pavliks punch. Pavlik can bang and thats a fact. It is a risky move and I hope the fight comes off, but I do not see this fight as a stroll in the park for pwill.

You don't even need to establish that Pavlik's a bigger draw to see that demanding that sort of money is just delusional. I really have no idea what Goosen thinks he's playing at.

I have no problem with a 50/50 split of the HBO licensing fee. I have no problem with a 50/50 split of the sponsorship money. I have a big problem with Goossen asking for 50% of the gate. Of the 10,000 people that will pack the Boardwalk Hall, 4 of them will be coming to see Paul Williams and they will all be working his corner. No disrespect to Williams. I'm a huge fan and think he will beat Pavlik. But a fact is a fact.

I think asking for 67% of the ****ing purse is very much pricing yourself out.
