    Wow. I posted about the interview and I don't remember half of that. I guess I'm out of this discussion. Way to many experts with the inside scoop that know EXACTLY what the score is. :-( This thread is a perfect example of people making **** up on the fly and then believing it.:patsch Later.     Williams is hardly a ****ing money-spinner.

    Well obviously. That doesn't mean Williams is the bigger draw. Quite big fighter vs. quite big fighter > quite big fighter vs. chump.

    This thread has broken down into all kinds of non-sense. It's actually very basic. The typical champion/challenger spilt is 70/30. Paul brings a bit more to the table than a typical challenger at this point, so Top Rank offered him more than the typical split. Now Goosen and Williams are doing the same thing they did last year; snubbing their noses at a very reasonable offer. In my opinion they are just playing at building PW's fraudulent reputation of being feared and avoided, but this time it will back fire, and do serious damage to Paul's career. He is rapidly building a worse rep than Winky.
    End the thread.

    exactly what i've been saying. he's been building this reputation of being a warrior who wants any fight and takes on all comers and now this... i just don't get it. the main reason i really like PW is his attitude and the fact that he just wanted to fight and get in there with the best. now i'm not sure if that's really the case. if he was upset with what goossen was doing i think he would speak up.

    Paul deserves:

    50/50 on HBO money
    50/50 on sponsorship money
    70/30 on live gate (at most)

    This should add up to several million dollars for Paul. Goossen demanding any more than that means they don't really want the fight.

    Where is your source for that, because when I read the Dan Rafael peice, it said nothing about HBO's discomfort ... Rafael expressed discomfort with the actions of Goosen/Tutor. I haven't seen any record reguarding HBO.

    You are not the end all. You are a huge KP fan that has gone on spewing about Kelly having a 3-fight deal with HBO that he doesn't have, and you still have yet to prove. And it's not your typical situation b/c, regardless of what that price is..P-dub will be on HBO with a license fee from them while the "typical" Champion of yours will defend his Middleweight belt against a Junior Middleweight on an independant Top Rank PPV.

    Agreed ... it shouldn't be that big of a gap between money in the two ... they are both headliners ... they're both going to go on to make millions if they don't fight each other ... the big issue with me is ... that TopRank would get 500k if they should fight and Arum believes that Pavlik is the draw and should get the gate and sponsorship money. Thats not fair because Williams is not in the same situation as Rubio ... Williams is a two division champion and has beaten a legit top 10 contender in Winky despite claiming to be a 147 pounder.

    see this is what I'm saying you say stuff just to say stuff.

    Winky had priced himself out of numerous fights.

    What other fighter beside your fave fighter in the world has P-dub priced himself out of?

    Goosen was the man who payed Margarito more then what Arum gave him for fighting cotto to fight p-dub.

    yo im tired of all yall pavlik supporters.... at this point its about the art of negotiating... pavlik will fight williams & williams will fight pavlik... you guys are being gay..

    lets look at the facts..

    pavlik & williams get a pretty even share of the upfront money....

    arum wants 100% of the money aside from that
    goosen wants somewhere around 50%


    now lets look at some more facts...

    williams has the oct 3rd slot reserved personally for him vs dzinzurik or a fill in... he also has the chance to fight competition at 147 potentially (mosley-cotto-berto-margarito-clottey)

    pavlik has no hbo date and no real competition... any competition is busy with the smw torny... any one else is not a relevant name or is trash



    so at this point although pavlik may have the title at 160 ... williams is the one with the leverage... so let the business men conduct their business.... all we have to do is sit back shut the **** up and wait because the fight will come off by this up coming wednesday.... pavlik needs it too much to just turn his back on it
