- This is from Rafael's article. Just compare what Pavlik was willing to do for a shot at Taylor to the current situation with Goosen/Williams, and then tell me who the Warrior is, and who is . . . . well . . . maybe not quite what he pretends to be.
"They are the ones who constantly cry out that Williams is the most feared man in boxing and that no big names are willing to fight him. Now you have Pavlik, the champion and the proven draw, not only willing to fight him but offering him, by far, the most money he's ever been offered for a fight in his life. It's quite a reasonable offer"
i really don't think paul DESERVES all that. i don't understand how he would. my point is paul should take this fight based on the good reputation he's built up over the years that he wants to fight and wants to be the best. he's got the reputation of a throwback fighter and it's going right out the window with all this money nonsense.
Raf is an idiot. Again Williams is not the promoter that is asking for more money, It's Goosen who is way too greedy. I hope Goosen wakes up to reality. All Goosen wants is co promote the fight so he can get the shair of the money as well.
Yes, I got to be an HBO exec by learning how to do simple Arithmetic. Maybe one day you will learn how to do simple arithmetic too...
Okay -- here's a fact: Kelly Pavlik is a beast who may very well ruin Williams, and Goosen knows that, so he is doing everything he can to make sure the fight does not happen.
yo what the **** are you idiots talking about if both guys were getting 10 million dollars each they would be fighting tomorrow arum & goosen are the ones you guys are arguing over.... and then blaiming it on the fighters... you guys sound liek a bunch of fukcing morons
super bias opinion, not a fact. try again:yep Your a bit bias but normal, some of you Pavlickers take this **** to the extreme.
i'm blaming goossen. i'm just wondering why we haven't heard from Paul. from how i've heard him talk in the past i would think we'd get some kind of hint that he wants this fight and we would hear something about him telling goossen to just TAKE IT. he's gonna make damn good money as it is...
I agree with what you're saying to a point. I guess what I'm trying to say is that under the figures I listed above, Pavlik still gets the majority of the money from the portion of the money (live gate) that he is most directly responsible for. So Arum saves face by getting his guy the majority of the money. Goossen saves face by getting Paul 50% of the sponsorship money and also by far his biggest pay date. Here's the best part, everyone involved makes a lot of money. No more splitting hairs. Unfortunately, I think this situation has becoming nothing more than a you know what measuring contest between Arum and Goossen. Which is bad for boxing and bad for their fighters.
