Wow, after so much BS in this thread it was great to read such a response.

I agree with you regarding the numbers, sounds fair. But i don't think Paul has a good chance to win. I don't think he can take a middleweight punch. at 147 he would get clocked clean and freeze for a second.

I told you that when jsimps confirmed it you could take it to the bank. You REALLY need to pay attention to what he says. Friendly advice.

You know what, initially, I thought the same thing. But, he did take some solid leather from Margo, which we now know could have been solid plaster, and he has improved his defense a little since then. He is very herky-jerky (not sure if that is a word), which might make it difficult for Pavlik to hit him square. The thing I'm most excited about in this fight is the punch output. Both these guys throw leather from rounds one thru twelve at an alarming rate for today's middleweights. This could be one of the most action packed fights of the year.

If this fight doesn't happen, Clotty won't happen. We have been down this path before. Just last year. No?

You said the contract was as valid as Mora's to fight pavlik... and why do you keep replying for him on this subject?

i hear you but I'm not sold. Margo at 147 is a whole different league then KP at 160. i think you may see P-dub slumped in the corner JT style.

I've been saying we will see rounds with a collective total of over 200 punches. This is Haglar/Hearns II. Not the same skill level, but just as fast and exciting. I also think it will last a bit longer. Pavlik doesn't have Haglars skill and PW is not cursed with Tommy's chin. KP by KO in 5-6 rounds. That would of course change if Paul fights a smart fight. If he does his usual thing of staying in the pocket throwing leather, he won't see the end of 6.

I agree completely that Pavlik hits much harder than Margo. I had the opportunity to sit ringside for the Rubio fight and Kelly lands punches with authority. This will be a great opportunity to see whether Paul can fight a smart fight or not. Pavlik has trouble with side to side movement and Paul can present that, if he chooses to do so. If he stands in and trades, and eats a couple straight rights, it could be a short night. And that's not saying Paul doesn't have a good chin. He just might not have a good enough chin to handle one of the hardest middleweight punchers in recent history.

Yep. Both contracts are real. Both favor one party over the other. Mora has a contract that says he has to fight Pavlik next. It doesn't say Pavlik has to fight Mora next. Too bad Mora. That is why I pointed out the low ball offer for the Sturm fight. No terms were released, just a one line mention that nobody even remembers where from.
