Lacy first and second fight with Tsypko look identical .

The only thing different about it was the first fight ended prematurely with a clash of heads.

The rematch between them was just unfinished business. The fight picked up right where the first left off.

You cant ruin a guy with multiple slaps.

False, because anyone who seen the Lacy v Sheika fight knew that Lacy was very limited anyway, so Calzaghe should not have got credit for beating a proven champion like he did deserve for the Kessler win, therefore he shouldn't get any more or less now. Lacy was never a great fighter and anyone who had seen that fight knew it. Lacy was a win on par with Byron Mitchell, not on par with the win over Kessler.

That fight was a masterclass. I felt sorry for Lacy, he hasnt been the same since, and although he was very good before the fight, he was deffinately overhyped. I think without his injuries he has atm and without this loss he would be a decent SMW today. However Joe was on a different level and Joe deserves full credit for a fantastic win.

A bit less because Jeff Lacy has been sort of exposed. Even though he was done when he fought Jermain Taylor, nonetheless it was evident that they are not in the same class and Jermain would beat any version of Lacy easily. But on the other hand Calzaghe beat a prime Lacy and one that he didnt know was so vulnerable and the way he beat him shows his talent and skill.

Are you serious? Lacy was beating Tsypko's ass until he tore his rotator cuff at the end of the 2nd round. to say the fight picked up where the last one left off is ****ing ridiculous.

In their first fight , it looked like Lacy could have gotten ko'd in this fight.
In the second fight he got rocked badly because that same potential was still there.

    Lacy was a world champ.

Calzaghe's performance that night was magnificent. Lacy having a bad shoulder injury in his next fight and never being the same has no bearing on it at all. Lacy took a massive beatdown that night and to his credit never bitched about it and made it to the bell when most wouldnt.

I have not seen a fight were one guy gets outscored like that and not get ko'd. When a guy cant land anything of significance and does not get kod' like that shows you how frail Calzaghe is as a fighter.

Yeah he will shoe shine you to death but hurts no one.

    Calzaghe is frail??

Did you see what Lacy looked like by the end of round 4? He was looking pretty beat up for a guy that was just getting shoe shined.

I have never seen a lopsided fight like that where the guy getting beat up DOES NOT GET KO'd . Even the one knockdown was more like a ' pushdown ' .

Lacy landed nothing of consequence . NOTHING but got beat from pillar to post in that fight. I have never ever seen anyone get beat up like that and not get ko'd.

If you lose every single round and you ar e fighting back . And doing the best you can do you at least have a reason to not roll over and die.

Lacy was never in the fight and JC could not stop him which is pathetic. I have never seen a fighter punch someone so many times , not recieve ANY damage in return and not ko his guy.

Calzaghe enjoyed a fairly large size advatage too. which make it more pathetic.

Yeah Lacy was "shined" alright. He had two beautiful shiners where his eyes used to be after 12 rounds of schooling.
The press and boxing pundits were unanimous with there views on how the fight would go,Calzaghe was given little or no chance, and most thought Lacy would win by KO.
There was no hype surrounding Lacy,"hype" and "overated" became the phrase's of choice when all the so called boxing experts were back tracking on there pre fight comments after Calzaghe beat him.
There will be more of the same if Froch beats Dirrell, the same people predicting a Dirrell victory because of his superior skills and speed will say he was overated and really not that good.

NAh Lacy has puffy eyelids. I remember a long time ago a boxing talking head said that his puffy eyelids would make it easier for them to cut and swell.

Lacy has never showed any great boxing skills . But what he did do was give boxing fans their monies' worth when he faught. He stood in the ring , planted his feet and threw punches , HARD . If we had more fighters like this UFC could not say anything bad about boxing.

But when you look at JC pitter pat with girlie swings to a victory there is much ammunition load and fire!!

I remember wathcing him fight Hopkins and this woman wathcing with , was utterly disgusted in Joe's punching style . A girl complaining about his form !!! THats rich:lol:
