Atlas: "I think he's damaged goods, I don't think he's the same fighter. Maybe the Clottey fight he removes those ghosts ... he was almost giving in, (against Clottey) he was almost just ready to allow clottey to grab that fight by the throat. There were moments when I thought Cotto was so damaged that he couldn't deal ... he almost thought he saw the reincarnation of Margarito."

bs. that makes no sense. also you have to think the calibre of opposition hes fighting is way above nearly all these fighters.

i thought he put the ghost of margarito to bed. It looked like when cloteey was stalking him in those mid/late rounds it was margo all over again....with a badly cut eye, he showed hes heart and pulled through

Atlas is a dumb****. The reason why Clottey was beating Cotto is that he has a great defense, is big as hell, is relentless , and has a great chin.

I believe Clottey won the fight, but I don't see half the **** Atlas talks about, such as seeing the ghost of MArgarito and all that ****. Seems to me Atlas should cut all the kindergarten psychobabble out and stick to what he barely knows, boxing analysis.

The ghosts of Margarito would never go to bed ...

Did Tito get rid of the ghost of Hopkins?

Did Hopkins get rid of the ghost of Jones?

Did Jones escape the ghost of Tarver?

Did Barrera escape the ghost of Pacquiao or better yet Junior Jones?

Taylor hasn't gotten over the ghost of Pavlik

Hatton never got over the ghost of Mayweather

Rather its your first loss ... a total mismatched and you're totally outclass ... or you've been knocked out ...

Some L's are hard to overcome ... and no matter how much you talk about how you're over it ... you truly don't escape that devastating loss.

You have to ignore people who start talking about seeing ghosts or being haunted, that is a clue they are reaching for a reason to criticize someone with no basis in actual fact or reality.

Before Margarito when Cotto would get caught he would instantly fight back ... but now I notice some hesitation ... if it weren't for a lack of effort from Clottey we would've seen the second loss and the second stoppage loss of Cotto's career.

Cotto is the sacraficial lamb ... Pac is the #1 fighter in the sport ... he's on the rise ... he's beaten better fighters off pure aggression ... if he rushes Cotto and stays on him for a few rounds ... thats the end of the fight -

I just hope that Cotto can slow the pace of the fight and maybe land some good punches of his own to make it a competitive fight.

In my eyes Pac, Floyd, Hop, Mosley, Marquez, are all truly elite. Cotto, Clottey, Kessler are all borderline elites who give anyone problems but have yet to set themselves fully away from the pack.

True ... I think Kessler's main hook is that he gave Calzaghe a good fight ... Cotto is living in the shadow of Tito Trinidad and Clottey can't get a ****in break ...

Really I think it started towards the end of the Mosley fight. When he seen a guy standing in front of him who had taken everything he had to give. We saw a different side to Cotto that night towards the end. I felt after that showing that somebody with the will and stamina would exploit it. Mosley just figured it out a round too late.

Agreed. Cotto is top notch. Just not on the level as the very best at this time.
