I see Vitali ruining Arreola's career, and a close fight between Haye and Valuev going the distance which would be in favor of the giant. Are we winning? We will know after the fights happened. Haye and Vitali losing would be the worst case for HW boxing imo.

I couldn't agree more. Arreola is pure hype in my opinion.

    We definitley are not.

Arreola is to green, he will get KOD. The division is terrible shape right now, back in time a guy with that less experience would never have gotten a title shot.Vitali by KO.

Valuev is the weakest champ at heavyweight of all times, terrible, got countless gift decisions . Even the not much proven Haye has to be favoured. I predict Haye by decision.

The Heavyweight division is AWESOME right. Fights are getting done. Young fighters are getting shots at titles. This is the best heavyweight boxing has been in 20 years because boxers are not dodging each other and hiding. Or only fighting mandatories making for huge periods of inactivity. The HWs of today are active, fighting a lot and fighting the best new contenders.

You don't know what you are talking about.

Valuev is the worst champion in heavyweight history, a paper champ. Haye will beat him by decision. HBO won't even televise it.

Arreola is totally inexperienced. Vitali will KO him, Arreola is just too green.

The division is in terrible shape with plenty of uncharismatic Russians and there is very little talent there . In the 90's we had plenty of talented fighters: Mercer, Holy, Tyson, LL, Ruddock, Morrison, Forerman, Moorer,Holmes, Byrd, Ibeabuchi ...the list goes on and on.

So, what in the world are you talking about?

See that's the problem having a rational discussion on this site. Because once a fighter doesn't have a US or UK passport he's automatically considered uncharismatic.

Mercer? Moorer? Ruddock? Morrison? Give me a break! These guys would be top 5 - top 15 today but not hold a single belt. Good you didn't list Bowe cause he was one of the biggest frauds of them all.

Holyfield was a hypejob that avoided facing Lewis for years. Why? Because Don King told him so. Then Lewis finally exposed him in a super boring and giant clinchfest that left an entire generation of boxing fans disappointed. Tyson also took 20 years before he faced Lewis. Another guy who was directed by Don King to cherry pick his opposition, just like Holyfield.

The 90s was full of diva US heavyweights with very limited talent but very big mouths that NEVER GOT IN THE RING WITH EACHOTHER! So they could continue running their mouths and collect paychecks looking good against cherry picked opposition. Young fighters didn't get shots in the 90s because Don King was hogging the belts and holding an entire division hostage with his way of doing business of letting only fighters of his own stable square off with each other so King collects fees on both of them.

Compare that to today. Young, emerging fighters are getting shots at titles INSTANTLY. Don King is largely out of the picture, that's a huge huge positive. The top fighters are facing each other or at least we know they can't wait to do so. Compare that to Bowe throwing his belt in the bin when he was forced to defend against Lewis. What a disgrace!

We're closer to seeing a unified HW champ within the next 36 months than we ever were in a very very long time. There is tons of fresh blood out there, from all over the world. Unfortunately not the US, but who outside of the US cares about that fact?

Ya its pretty good i think. Big step up for Arreola though, he hasnt exactly tested himself properly to take on Vitali i think, and if he looses it'll be a long way back for him.

Still hopefully it'll motivate him to get in shape though.

You think anybody would have give a damn about Holyfield had he been from Argentina or Turkey?

A product of the US hype machine, blatantly exposed by Lennox Lewis. Kinda sad the Americans needed a Brit to reveal the mediocre truth.

Well at least I don’t think one of the greatest HW boxers of all time is an American hype job.
Only because he lost to great Lennox Lewis after his prime years.

Just to remind you my friend, that "US hype machine" had enough left to beat at age 46 the WBA champ Valuev. :hi:
