I know its a boxing forum not a footie forum but Legends transcend all sports and Sir Bobby was a big funder of three of our North East amateur boxing gyms. I feel he is worthy of a quick mention as one of the greatest British Sports Personalities. RIP Sir Bobby. :hi::bbb

If he funded amateur clubs then he deserves praise on our pages.

    DEP Bobby Robson.

top quality manager who was lucky enough to manage the best striker seen in a long time, maybe ever, in his peak. Ronaldo.

True legend, appreciated world wide as someone who had a genuine love for football and doing so without the normal arrogance attached to management.... RIP

A sad day even though it has been expected for some time now. A genuine man in an arrogant mans game.
Truly dedicated his life to his craft and in an era which has created so many obnoxious, arrogant and media obsessed characters Bobby stayed true to himself and his family. A lovely man who the likes of will be sorely missed. I listened to an interview he gave last week which led me to believe that he knew his time was up. He was saying that he basically had no regrets and had achieved everything which he wanted to. He was saying that he loved football because he was given the best life possible and had the best opportunities ever and it was all down to football. Amazingly genuine bloke.

RIP and my wishes go out to his family at this time
