Will RJJ teach Anderson Silva a boxing lesson, or will Silva embarrass him?

This boxing match will happen after Silva finishes his UFC contract apparently (another 3 fights to run after he fights Forrest Griffin I think).

Silva is known as one of the most accurate and deadly strikers in MMA history.

Jones has been humbled by the last three world-level opponents he has faced (Tarver, Johnson, Calzaghe).

Will Jones still have the skills to teach Silva that MMA striking does not equal the sweet science, or will Silva embarrass Jones by punching him out in Jones's own sport?

Silva would look like a fool. In fact im not even sure anyone would sanctions a fight between Roy Jones and a guy with a boxing record of 1 win 1 KO loss.

They'd sanction a fight between a rabbit and horse if it filled their pockets.

not sure what to make of this...

silva has trained muay thai, though the basics are same the same, though a "kickboxers" arsenal is far deeper and combinations etc are adapted around this, silva will have limitations of which he is not used to in a boxing match, check out these type of fights in the past, its 12 rounds also.

silva is a great striker but he too has his faults..

this is jone jr's to lose IMO,i dont appreciate these cross over type spectacles they all too often turn out to be freakshows that tend to do no favours for the fighters participating and the sports themselves..

jones should fights hopkins or just retire.

i wont be watching nor paying for it,no way.

Silva has less of a chance than the average journeyman in booxing would.

Silva is a good MMAer but boxing moves at a different level. That being said, I believe some MMAers are truely good athletes. the stand-out example is Emilianenko - when is his next fight btw.? Wasnt it canceled for tomorrow?

He is the only MMA fighter I follow - simply because he is unique...

Roy has enough left to beat Him,maybe not knock him out though..If Roy was in his prime, this fight would have been ova in the first round wit the very first punch Roy landed

I can't envision anyone really believing a fighter like Anderson Silva could hang with Roy Jones Jr in a Boxing match. It's hard to gauge just how skillful the best of the best are, and as past prime as Jones undoubtedly is, he will put on a masterclass against the inexperienced, overrated Anderson Silva. I strongly disagree with who said they doubt Roy would knock him out at this stage. I think it would be a bigger mismatch than Chavez vs Tsyzu, Whitaker vs Trinidad, and all the other hosts of mismatches down the years.

I'd pay to see it. The fight would not sort out any debates, but it would put our sport in perspective. Nobody is going to dive into Boxing for a few years and beat the best. That's for MMA, won't ever happen in Boxing. Never.

    Exactly.

That's why i want it to happen. I think most MMA fans and perhaps even fighters are delusional into thinking that they can hang with professional boxers just because they do some boxing. This would answer the question emphatically.

Go check out the Silva boxing clips on youtube. He wouldn't beat any top 10 fighter, much less Roy Jones Jr. :verysad
