Will RJJ teach Anderson Silva a boxing lesson, or will Silva embarrass him?

Jones even at age 50 would beat silva in a boxing match. Silva is a pretty good striker but this is boxing we're talking about. Jones will make silva look like a fool and knock him out cold like mercer did to slyvia:lol:

I'd also just like to say that if you fail to accept that the best boxer on the planet =/= the best FIGHTER. Then, not only you are delusional.. but I wonder how much you actually appreciate the ART of boxing itself...!

I've been an ardent follower of MMA, and a student of true live-combat for what 6 years now?, however my love for boxing hasn't diminished in light of the knowledge of what would happen when you take a high-level boxer & an equally high-level MMA professional... -- rather the opposite, my love for boxing has continued to grow!

If yours would diminish with this realization // you are so blind and unwilling to accept this reality.. then like i said, I question how much you really APPRECIATE the art itself & the level to which you value the 'hard-man' aspect of boxing over other values...

I could've sworn you just said in your previous post that boxers aren't the best fighters in the world.

Here is another problem I have and that is many MMA fighters have Glass Jaws that would make even Boxers like Roy Jones and Amir Khan look like Jake LaMotta.

The usage of 'street fight' is ignorant. As 'street fights' tend to happen between brawlers... who just swing wildly.. and when it goes to the ground.. it's not through a technically-sound takedown of any sort! nor is there any real jiujitsu by most people in the urban west in street fights in the 'hood or pub-brawls.

Real MMA involves true athletes.. often with great technical ability in one area & sound ability + effectiveness in others.

'Street fight' <-- that term used so smugly most of the time is an injustice & insults to MMA. The top-level of which involves GREAT athletes (you'd be surprised at how hard decent MMA fighters train all year round... not just in a training camp!)

    Yes, he would...!
However, as would Anderson Silva (by a good amateur!).

but again, as I said.. I just hope you understand this thing about people calling each other out is OVERHYPED.

MMA gets far more hate from boxing than Boxing gets from MMA.
MMA gets a shitload of stick from many boxers, boxing promoters & also well-educated boxing fans who can appreciate the science behind the sweet science of fisticuffs yet somehow choose to laugh at the notion that there may be any intricate technique or science behind what goes on in an MMA fight...

Whereas, any 'hate' to the art of boxing from MMA is from fans not fighters (and mostly, 'casuals'/ignorant fans.. who say stupid things with regards to internal things in MMA -- never mind stupid things regarding boxing!!!- & they hate on boxing because they see it as 'boring' -- they can't appreciate the art of boxing -- but 'boring'? to a certain CASUAL degree they aren't wrong.. and until the UFC exploded a few yrs ago... we were beginning to run dry on the frequency of great big fights + many of the best avoided the best --- though that's still a bit of an issue in certain areas!). I do fear for boxing. I've said this many times before... for this last generation of boxing stars.. there aren't many worthy successors with that level of appeal who are ENGLISH-speaking (which is the key thing). Ortiz & Khan.. that's about it. Others coming up, though great mouth-watering prospects... lack the charisma & don't speak English!
Once this generation truly ends (and they're not far from finishing up. maybe 3 years tops?)... then Khan, Ortiz & Juan Diaz will have to carry the spine of the sport in the lower-mid divisions (just as Morales, Barrera, Hamed, Gatti, Oscar, Manny & Hatton have done before).

Most MMA fighters are, if not atleast fans of boxing, then STUDENTS of boxing (amongst other arts which they train nearly every day!).

Yes. I said that there & I said it in the post after that too.

    Read that post carefully

it says =/= <--- i.e. DOES NOT EQUAL.

it's not an equals sign. It's a slashed out equals sign

With his inside game, Silva could teach the likes of Hopkins and Bika a thing or two

The clinch-game & in-fighting in MMA as a whole is not transferable to boxing, sorry.

And you will not find a more ardent defender of MMA on this forum... nor a better-informed one either (especially with regards to BOTH sports combined... MMA + Boxing).

When you said Bika.. i thought so at first.. but then thought, no, wait.. he must be serious -- 'cause you used Anderson! That guy, though brutally clinical, is extremely graceful on his feet!

Also, he is extremely honour-bound as a fighter. Highly respectful to his fellow fighters.

Big mistake by Silva, Jones will destroy him in a boxing match even now.

Silva is the best technical striker in MMA right now & top 3 p4p but he`s only there because he has great BJJ to back his striking up, his jiu jitsu, knees & kicks play a huge part in his success, all of which cant be used vs one of the greatest boxers that ever lived.

This will be just as embarassing as Roy trying his hand vs Silva in a cage, I give either man close to 0% chance vs the other at their own game.

Jones will/should win a boxing match vs Silva, no doubt at all.
