I think that the fight will be a good mainevent, alot of times when TopRank puts together a PPV between their own stable of fighters they don't do a good job at putting together a good undercard.

Aside from that I don't agree with what Cotto is doing, his recent acts have shown me that he isn't confident that he can't win this fight ... and is looking to have that strap and a security blanket in case he loses this fight.

Put the strap on the line and prepare to defend it -

    Thoughts?

he's just doing it to get under Manny's skin because Manny is being a little ***** over 2 pounds. Manny is the one that ruined the fight by making a big fuss over what all his fans say is an insignificant weight difference.

Pac is ruining it by being a ***** about two pounds!

Is Cotto the same fighter at 145 than he is at 147?

No, he just refuses to be bullied. Sure if they want the fight at 145 he'll fight. BUT if they want the title, let him fight at 147. I see nothing unreasonable about that.

It makes no sense to me on why Cotto would rather vacate the title than to defend it at the agreed upon weight. Nothing good will come out of vacating where as with the title on the line, it could at least be leveraged as part of the promotion to attract more interest which ultimately means more money for both fighters. If he's serious about vacating then it seems to me that it would just be to spite Pac.

God some of you guys are clueless. How the hell is Cotto ruining a fight when all he is doing is forcing pac to grow a bit more on his ball bags and fight at the welter weight limit 147. Some people say it only 2 pounds, if that the case then why make the fight the catchweight in the first place?

Cotto beat a bum in michael jennings so that belt worthless anyways but even so Cotto is in the right to say no limit no belt. If you want the belt you can come and get it, just get rid of that stupid stipulation.

I think pac beats him at 147 so i dont get why they even did that.

Exactly!! You come and negotiate as a champion but in the end you look for reasons not to put the belt on the line??

If you dont like risking the belt if its not 147, then dont come to negotitiate.

Agreed, Cotto SHOULD be able to use the belt as a negotiating tool.

Pac and Roach are being bitches.

I still want to hear from a ******* if they believe Cotto is the same fighter at 145 that he is at 147. :think

Cotto is taking what Arum gave him and running with it. I think that in the end the strap will be on the line but now Arum is going to have to pay for it. Arum should have kept his mouth shut!!!

Cotto says he doesn't care if he is stripped ... thats a ****ing lie ... but its a good bluff.

Its already a given that if there's no negotiations about the weight, then the fighters can fight at max weight. BUT! if you know that there will be negotiations concerning weight limits, then be prepared to defend it at whatever you and the other fighter agreed on.:-(

Why shouldn't he? Why put up the welterweight belt when you're not allowed to fight at the welterweight limit?

    Good for Cotto

What would be the point? Pac is just going to vacate it. Pac is just being greedy now

what question? If cotto's the same fighter at 145 than at 147?
:rofl Its already a stupid question as it is and you were looking for a serious answer?:patsch

He's not ofcourse! but will he be better at 145 or at 147? We dont know now do we?

But if you're argument is that he's going to be really drained. Then he's definitely one of those fighters that take advantage of the stupid official weigh-ins.
