It is in the WW division. 141-147 = WW division .

Yes because that's as low as he could go and that's the only way Pac would fight him. Do you think it was his idea to have a catchweight?

Cotto's not bitching either - he just said if you want the belt on the line remove the weight restriction.

If he was all about the money - he'd be willing to pull a mosley and fight at 140.

I'm a huge Cotto fan, but I have to say that if this fight gets scrapped due to some bul**** belt, it will be Cotto who is losing out. Not Pac. Cotto is now in a position to dethrone the #1pfp guy in the world, and he's gonna let that slip away for a belt he got from Peter fuking Jennings? :patsch

That's why I like Cotto. Very firm in what he says - wouldnt move on the weight limit, and will walk away over pac's bitchiness.

The man is like a factory worker who boxes... he's got principles, something rarely seen in boxing anymore.

    again your wrong

147.5 is below 148 but it wouldn't be Welterweight.

Cotto is not confident of winning at 145. TS is right, Cotto needs a security blanket.

    lol, it's coo

but seriously ... Welterweight is anything up to 147

im tired of people saying "Welterweight is 141-147" .. like that's part of the definition or something .. they added the "141-" part

the only concrete definition of Welterweight I have found is
    This content is protected

ya'll were the ones who added the "141" part

so 145 is not over 147, it does count as Welterweight.

    however boo catchweights

coz there are other divisions below welter so you have to put boundaries.

What are you on about? Cotto will weigh 155/160 fight night.

    Welterweight = 141- 147 (Welterweight Limit 147)
    Jr Welterweight = 136 - 140 (Jr Welterweight Limit is 140)

If the fight was at 140 it would be a Jr Welterweight fight.
    Hence: 141-147= Welterweight fight.
