Calling the winners/losers is the challenge. Being competitive isn't even an issue for any of the Americans. ****, they would just have to be as able as either light-fisted Mundine or Calzaghe and that isn't an incredibly high bar for any of them to meet. Kessler will likely be tested by every fighter in the tournament. If you are looking for who could struggle the most with MK then look toward the fighter giving up the most size (a 5"10" super middleweight is just not an optimal size due to their lack of length (see Jeff Lacy, Edision Miranda, as obvious similar examples).

You're not seriously saying Calzaghe has more power than Ward, are you?

Anyway, I think Kessler will take this one by late rounds KO.

Joe in his prime (pre 2005ish) before the hand trouble really kicked in could bang a bit, but no way the Joe who fought Kessler hits harder than Ward.

The only advantage i give to Ward for this fight it's the speed! and even there Kessler has good speed!

Ward as great ability but im not certain how he will answer ti the pressure!

I don't think the face of Kessler fighting Perdomo in september will change anything since Ward had a fight on the same day!

Kessler (9-3) maybe late KO (10-12)

I remember when Calzaghe compared Kessler to Lacy before that fight. Nothing's changed, except the hoopla.

All six fighters fair have a chance to win this tournament, but Ward have got worst opponent here in his first fight! I think Kessler will win this one.. not as easy as most predict, but he will win! When the first fight are done, we get a better clue who will go far, and who wont

Ward has a few advantages over Kessler imo. One is youth, ward is the younger fighter and has not been plagued by injury like Kessler. Speed as you mention is an advantage for ward. I think wards southpaw stance is an advantage for ward as well. ward also gives much better angles then kessler who is more robotic stand up 1-2 style. I think ward also has an advantage in defense.

I think Ward will beat Kessler on points and towards the later rds will definitely land the cleaner shots.

You cant even give a break down on how Kessler will shut Ward out so yes its funny to hear people like you make a fool of yourself...At least break down the fight is going to play out instead of typing outlandish comments...Ward is no pushover and it will be laughing in the end when he pulls off the upset...You Kessler fans are seriously underrating and overlooking Ward...Given Kessler latest fights I give Ward a solid chance and I've explained my reasons...You've yet to explain how Kessler is going to dominate Ward. Lets hear it since you're so confident!

I see Ward youth with experience and that's why i give this point to Kessler , I agree that Kessler his robotic but he doin it well and got great movements after each attack! For the Defense it's hard to say !

i think the first round will be close but Kessler will take advantage in the later round , Kessler have good stamina !

I'm just glad to see Kessler back in the ring. I was getting bored of saying he'd unofficially retired. He'll win it but it won't be pretty, I'm still not impressed with his inside game.
