First time I ever walked into a boxing gym 3 1/2 years ago I see some dude doing sit-ups on a bench, then the owner tells me his name is Sultan Ibragimov and that he's a top HW and undefeated. So thats my connection with Sultan, lol. I wsh him the best.

This announcement is a mere formality. Sultan was mulling retirement even before the Klitschko fight.

I think this is the result of an overtly long amateur career, could be wrong though.

Its a shame that Ibragimov retired.

Outside of the Klitschko's he was the best heavyweight, and a very underated heavyweight at that.

Ibragimov stopped when he married his wife. His manager said he doubted if Sultan would ever stepped in a ring anymore.

Maybe that's a good thing, when he retires and you all have positive feelings about his skills. He could go on for years and get beaten more times and then we all would say: "He should've retired after the wladfight, he's past his prime or overrated!!"

So Sultan, have a good rest man:good

It would be great to see a "so called fat heavyweight bum" to knock the f*ck out of that big mouth:D

Thats what I heard as well, something about wanting to be an actor. I think he took the Wlad fight for the money and the slim chance of cracking Wlad on his weak chin. At least he could tell his kids he held a belt at heavyweight, not everyone that boxes could say that.

Not if they keep inventing weightclasses and sanctioning organisations:D
