Will RJJ teach Anderson Silva a boxing lesson, or will Silva embarrass him?

I didnt read through all this BS but there were a few things that caught my eye.

    1. Arlovski moves well for a big guy but I have personally seen him getting LIT UP like a Christmas tree by MW's. This happened pretty routinely. He has zero chin. None.

    2. Marcus Davis top 10??! Is this a joke??! This guy only fought in Mass. and Connecticut against tomato cans and got KOd by a guy with a 10-7 record or something like that.

    3. Nick Diaz's best defense is blocking with his face. He couldnt move his head if his life depended on it. Enough said.

    1. !! Not surprised. As I have always said he has a **** chin. Did you see him vs. Tim Sylvia-2.. gettin knocked out after he had Sylvia rocked? what a joke. Tim shitty Sylvia. Also, Did you see him vs. Brett Rogers? That was ****in' embarrasing. I felt sorry for Freddie. Must've been thinkin' "damn, if this guy had a chin, I coulda done something with him".

    2. Read it on the BBC quite awhile back... he was apparently ranked in the top-10 as a light-middleweight by the WBC. I never saw Marcus fight until TUF2 so I wouldn't know.. but I'll trust what ya say :).

    3. .lol. very true. For some reason, though, his pitter-patter style is slowly growing on me.

http://www.youtube.com/v/Dt1GcBeYUmY <--- someone tell me how to embed, not much of a forum guy.. don't know about these things. BUT HERE'S ANDERSON GETTING CLOCKED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO DO TEH ALI SHUFFLE! If you're having a bad day, this will help cheer you up.

Lol! yea man, I saw him against Sylvia, I was watching the fight with a gentleman who trained him for a little while. When I say I saw him get lit up by MW's , I mean I really "saw" it, lol!!! It was at the gym where he was training his stand up. Im really good friends with Shonie Carter (mma fighter from Chicago) and occassionally he'd bring me along for a training session here and there. Got to train with alot of cool cats and see alot of cool ****..

Yea.. Marcus Davis primarily fought in 2 states in the U.S. against nobodies. He lost to another nobody and then retired/stopped boxing.. No way in hell, top 100 material let alone top 10

I want this fight to happen ASAP to humiliate MMA. That sport is grating on my sensibilities and the haughtiness and arrogance displayed by the average fan, much less the practitioners irritates the **** out of me. Put him in a boxing ring with Terribly Roy Jones and watch as he is maliciously smote! I'm hoping for a Calzaghe-esque sexual assault, too. Roy Jones will tax that ass brutally.

Of course, "it's boxing, make it MMA and he loses." Questionable. Many good boxer-punchers would undoubtedly **** up a lot if not most non-elite MMA guys with a few months of dedicated training on takedown defense.

Im tired of these ****ing mma douchbag's comparing MMA hands to boxing hands. THey are on a completly differnt level. Its like comparing a commando and a cowboy's handgun skills. Sure they are both deadly, but in a duel, the cowboy would shoot the commando in the face 10/10 times. :hi:

    The haughtiness goes both ways.

A good boxer friend of mine (state level amateur champ) one day saw my brother and his martial arts instructor going through some drills.
He said "I will fight them. If they are still standing after 30 seconds I will let them call that a victory"
They politely invited him to join them in training. He did so skeptically and with a fair bit of cockiness.
Nowadays, he points at the instructor and ruefully says "If I fight him, and I am still alive after 10 seconds, then I would consider that a victory!"

It has already been said here. Most MMA people have a lot of respect for boxing and wish that they were more skilled in that area (but they have to divide their training up into other areas too).
Most MMA fans are also fans of boxing, or at least have respect for it.
There are some MMA fans who say stupid stuff about boxing - but they are stupid people. Because they are stupid they also say dumb things about MMA as well. In fact, they probably say stupid stuff every day about everything.

It's like kickboxing. MMA people don't sit there and criticise it. They try to learn it and wish they were better at it.
It's like wrestling or grappling. MMA people don't criticise it. They respect it and practice it.

The whole MMA vs boxing thing is a farce, created and perpetuated by morons or by people who think that it is a valid way to market (with that marketting obviously targetted at morons).

I honestly believe that most sports fans, for any type of sport, are ****ing clueless. The idea that it is MMA against Boxing is exactly the sort of thing that the most clueless buy into.

It's like saying that there is a rivalry between decathletes and sprinters.

We got mixed martial artists calling out elite boxers, not the other way round.

Personally? I couldn't give a **** about MMA, I think it's poor. I watch every UFC event just for the pure fact that somebody might get brutally knocked out. I watch Boxing because I appreciate the artistry, the combatants, and the sports long history. Not saying it's right, that's the way it is.

Anderson Silva called out Roy Jones Jr to a Boxing match. Keep in mind Roy has never gone on record to say anything malicious about Anderson or the sport he dedicate himself too. On that basis, I hope Roy taps that ass, and there is no doubt in my mind that the MMA community will suffer from the inevitable result. I condone any violence that happens in a Boxing ring. Anywhere else? Not interested.

I love watching Silva fight but I don't think he stands a change against Jones in a boxing match. I'd be surprised if this fight is even sanctioned.

Ray Mercer v Sylvia says it all. The guy is 48 and took 9 secs to flatten him.

Sounds like Silva is a bit dopey then, doesn't it?

Anyway, who says the MMA community will suffer? Sure, some of their fans may be put off - but those fans are frankly ******s who do more harm then good.

I think the MMA community will actually benefit from RJJ administering a one sided beatdown. It never hurts to have delusions broken.

Simlarly, if PBF took up the challenge and stepped into a MMA contest after he has mouthed off about it, he would get thrashed. This would be good for the boxing community and not bad for it.

Fight fans, whether it is boxing or any other sort of combat sport, seem to be the most delusional in the world. This is not a good thing.

I know who Shonie Carter is. :D. Cool guy. A funny guy too!
    Mr. International. hahahah.

re: Marcus. ah. Well, atleast I'm not a naive-****... & didn't put him at the top of my list of the best MMA-boxers  + i stand by that... even if he was t10 (which he obviously wasnt... & whoever said that in an interview with the bbc needs a slap). STILL, though, he is a good MMA-boxer... or atleast, technically, has all the tools to be one.
