There has been a fair bit of debate on the British forum about a potential Khan vs Hatton matchup. I don't think it's as hard a matchup for Hatton as many do. Pacquiao is Hatton's worst nightmare, southpaw, fast and heavy handed - most of us probably paid too much attention to the size factor rather than styles. Khan has lightning fast hands, but has sloppy footwork and doesn't plant when he throws shots, most probably for fear of being countered. The best Hatton would draw the lead from an opponent rather than bulldozing them - he changed that for the Tszyu fight out of necessity and stuck with it ever since.... you could watch the Phillips and Tackie fights for evidence (and parts of Urango and Castillo), but I prefer the Michael Stewart one, probably his most destructive display. If Khan thinks that he can keep Hatton at a distance with pitty pat flurries he is deluding himself. Floyd couldn't keep Hatton off him early, so instead preferred to draw Hatton forward and fighting in the pocket. Amir isn't capable of fighting on the inside, a shot Michael Gomez decked him and hurt him badly with a body shot. A peak (say 2004) Hatton would splatter Khan, a bit like Lewis vs Golota. This version would have a bit more difficulty but I still see a fairly early night.
rico you are a tad biased codrington should be right at the top of your list, wheres jermaine taylor :huh you have haye at 4 who has been stopped once in hi career on his feet due to gassing out and that was his 14th fight. Wheres wlad he has been down god knows how many times and stopped 3 yet hatton has been stopped twice more then anything to do with being shot, yet both times the p4p 1 fighter in the world. khan i agree on and macca is **** :yep but if you want any respect you have to do lists with out bias, unfortunately there are fighters with much worse chins then you have put up. still i should know better then feeding the trolls atsch
Have you ever done a feather fisted campaign? or a weak mind/heart one? Those are two potential things :think if you did the latter you could call the boxers wet flannels/wet ballbags who dont have any bollocks or heart. Nahhh thats a bit **** really....meh:hat
I think you're being too harsh on Haye. The only stoppage loss on his record had nothing to do with a glass jaw. I'm assuming you've seen the fight with Thompson. Enzo is a really nice guy by all accounts, but I was expecting him to go in at #1. Hatton and Roy Jones are too low.
This is EXACTLY why glass jaw lists are necessary. Khan was wobbled by a jab and then knock out cold by a unknown fighter who has shown himself to be an utter mediocrity since then. And the constant reiteration of the old - and utterly unprovable - "that punch would have ko'd anybody" myth is another reason. There is no way to know this, and in the case mentioned given that Hatton was taken out by the light-hitting Mayweather, it's quite doubtful. Most, if not all, knockouts are the result of chins that are shaky to one degree or another.
You really hate the 'that punch' theory, don't you? I'd say a fair portion of KO's are a result of stamina issues - Taylor has been KO'd twice mainly on stamina..... Haye obviously, Bruno vs Bonecrusher and Terrible Tim. No doubt plenty of others.
