Khan-Hatton isn't too popular, is it?! Good thing too. **** you, Sky, for trying to plug the ass off of it.
I saw his bradley fight and Kotelnik fight, and i was not impressed. Sorry sir if you were not impressed by me not watching boring Witter.
You see, it's ignorant fan boys like you who make this forum the ******ed miasma it is. I give Khan full props for the way he executed Roach's game plan against Kotelnik but Witter is a student of the game, who's paid his dues and never been knocked out, let alone in under a minute by a South American nobody.
You've got some nerve after Khan's last performance. Running around the ring throwing arm punches is hardly greatly exciting unless you are a nuthugger of Khan.
I like Khan v Hatton as a fight but Witter v Khan holds far more poignancy if Junior reclaims the WBC tonight.
How many times has Khan done that? He was following a gameplan, and that led him to winning a world title.
Witter has been following gameplans also. People in glass houses should not throw stones. Many people were utterly bored by Khan's performance against Kotelnik, as efficient as it was. I'm not criticizing him for it because its the only way he'll be successful, but the truth is it wasn't exciting it was a snoozefest for the most part and the only way its going to be exciting is if Khan's opponent makes it so.
Same here- I prefer the latter. If the former happens then I won't be hugely fussed but there are better fights about for all concerned, IMO. Add to that the fact that, if Witter wins, it's finally an opportunity for a huge domestic fight and unification for someone who has constantly had to live in Hatton's shadow. As an aside, you also get 'word of the day' for including 'miasma' in a sentence, Dan:good.
There is no point trying to trade with guy or trying to KO someone who has never even been on his bum in his whole life. Plus most other fighters wont have a tight guard and defence like Kotelnik. Maidana who got 25 KO for 26 wins could not even manage to put Kotelnik down.
Gameplan? You say that as though it was merely a matter of course. Kotelnik is a limited domestic European operator. Decent win nothing more or less. The fact a title was on the line is extremely flattering and frankly laughable. Well see what Khans mettle is really made of when the big names come knocking for his belt.
I know why Khan did it, and its likely he'll continue the same gameplan. It's sensible, Roach even wants him to tighten up a little more where he exposed himself. Fact is, it was still boring so its funny for you to sit here and call Witter boring. Kotelnik contributed to it also by being a very poor aggressor, but the actual fight was tedious. Khan throwing his arms and running backwards with a poor connect rate, Kotelnik doing nothing. The fight with St Clair was the same when he utilized the same gameplan, and it looks like this is the blueprint for the future.
The plan will stay the same, but fighters who come looking for Khan and are more hittable we will see action, because with his speed he can counter well.
