I'm tired of weaseling my way around my thoughts, so here goes the real...

on the Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao-Miguel `Angel Cotto.

The only reason PAc even got the catch weight of 145 is because of his pfp status in the game. Floyd never used his status like this before to dictate weight, only money. Pac is the smaller man coming in against Cotto, and that is the thrill of the fight...Pac beating a bigger man every time out...only Emmanuel Dapidran wanted the fight at 143, and got the agreed weight of 145:dead.

Cotto is supposed to have all the advantages in this fight as the bigger man, yet Pac is the better boxer( I don't agree at all), the faster man while Cotto is perceived as the stronger guy( I don't agree that Cotto is stronger). COTTO IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE PHYSICAL ADVANTAGES going in since he has fought at this weight longer, and has been the bigger guy all of his life, but guess what-Dapidran is 140 lbs now, and Emmanuel Dapidran has fought at 147 before.

I want Cotto's title on the line just like everyone else, but only at 147...and fuk what both fighters agreed to on the title topic. The sport is bigger than these 2. There aren't that many catch weight fights that has happened compared to title fights where a guy has moved up to fight the champ, and not ask for a catch weight, and there is a reason why. More title fihts happen with fighters who go up in weight with no stipulations than title fights that are fought at catch weights, and that is a fact.

Fans will perceive this fight as a great fight, but not a true ww title fight. I thought the WBO title was bogus to many fans, yet PAc's fans want to call it Pac's 7th title if he wins lol... Shane is the true 147 champion, and Cotto just has a win over him. Shane has a win over the man who ko'd Cotto who was the ww champion(Margarito). Either fight the champ at his weight, or fight him without the title on the line because I think I speak for most fans-not all of course. 147 or bust, and the fans have spoken on this subject already...

What was supposed to be a great fight, and still will be...has almost turned into a scam in my eyes, but I'll still watch the fight.

As much as I dis Pav, he went for it against Hop. He took a chance and paid for it, and has come out clean.

Who cares about the weight and belts, it's a tangible fight between 2 big names. I'll take that any day of the week. Cotto will be fine at 145lbs and neither will have issues with the finances (well except Pac who is supposedly getting scammed but thats his own fault). Fighting should be about legacy, best against best, **** the rest.

 

Roach is cheating Pac and tarnishing his image by wanting to get Pac a 7th WW title at a catchweight other than 147. You want the man's title come get fairly without making the man go down in weight. Cotto is not going to be pimped. Cotto has every right to stand his ground in this situation If Pac don't like it go fight Mosley.

 

Fighters care about the titles. You going to a fight, bar or paying for a ppv fight helps the boxers out tremendously, but they do care about their titles. Those titles show achievement, and have been a part of the sport since the sport began.
