Povetkin is too short at 6"2 to become dangerous to Wlad who improved his foot work a lot over recent years. Povetkin will run into Wlad and look like a confused bull missing the torrero. Each time Wlad will step aside and place a left hook right at Povetkins temple.

First few rounds will be desperate attempts to get on the inside, and if that doesn't work wide swings like a caveman and then get KTFO!!:bbb

:bloodFirst off, Povetkin is not undersized. Compared to Valuev, and the K brothers he is, but compared to the entire rest of the heavyweight division, Povetkin is average sized.

But regarding your first statement I quoted. :-(

You are already dismissing Povetkin's intent, and saying, now, BEFORE hand, that he, an undefeated fighter with a chance to be THE man at heavyweight.............will merely come to take his beating and get his check? As he you already know, ahead of time, that he is not even going to try?

    :lol::lol:

How about this.............Maybe if Povetkin does try like hell (as Chagaev did, and many before him).....he is merely UNEFFECTIVE in his attempts, due to Wlad's superior size and skill. What about the possiblility of Povetkin doing everything he can, and everything he is trained to do, but try as he may, it just don't do the job, given how outskilled he will be against Wlad.

Maybe consider that, before saying something, before the fight, that Povetkin will not even try. Put YOU in there against a fighter as skillled and as big as Wlad is, and get your ears beat off, even though you are trying like hell to get inside and survive long enough to land something big.......and let some armchair critic say you didn't try..............

There is such a thing as a fighter trying with all he has, its just that its not effective, given the level of opposition he's trying like hell to overcome. I am sure Chagaev could educate you on what that feels like.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Povetkin will make Klitschko work/fight.

And i think we may see a more aggressive than usual Wlad.

The Moskcow-**** starts again. And at the End K2 wins the bit and Povetkin pulls out.

But they can forget any manipulation about Wlad in Moscow. Chef will watch at him very carefully! No chance at all.

I was very impressed with how Chagaev kept coming forward, given the firepower that was leveled against him.

And I am curious to see of Povetkin's come forward, pressure style is still used, given what he's gonna get hit with as he tries to advance.

I think the best way to get inside of Wlad's range and ring his bell, is, along of side-to-side waist movement, also use alot of head down and leaning/ducking forward, stepping inside, and then, once inside, coming up to land in a flurry.

Leaning forward head down and chin tucked while pressing in, Povetkin wouldn't be as suseptible to getting caught with the uppercut, as a fighter normally would be, given that Wlad rarely uses the uppercut. Not to mention that Wlad is so tall, that he's not really going to have a good clean shot to nail a low, ducking while advancing forward, Povetkin.

Povetkin is an ideal opponent for Wlad.

    He offers nothing.

He is straight up and down, doesn't move his upperbody, stands right in front of his opponent, is one dimensional, comes in straight lines, has leaky defense, and has no power.

He will be completely overmatched. Povetkin would have to make drastic fundamental changes in order to even be competitive for a round with Wlad.

I don't know why he would take this fight because he will suffer a humiliating defeat. This is a fight that I doubt even ESPN Classic would pick up unless they wanted to see a man against a boy.

But I guess he earned his shot...

100% correct. Wlad has grown into a master of neutralizing the strengths of his opponents and making them completely ineffective.

Of course, to the untrained eye a guy like Chagaev then looks like he's lacking ability or motivation but it isn't so.

One thing all the posters here are dismissing is one of Povetkin's major strenghts, and that is his workrate. He is a seemingly never tiring guy that comes at his opponents non-stop for something like 8 out of 10 rounds, taking very very little rest. I think Wlad will neutralize him, but at least there is some faint hope that Povetkin's determination and willpower will come to test Wlad's.
