cotto, with all the weight advantage in his favor, is not confident that he would retain his belt after the fight.

it should be easy money for him. fighting a guy who was a lightweight a few moons back. im not a bum like hatton. im not an aging delahoya. big words. yeah yeah, you're not. you're a great fighter, but you're a ***** for not putting your title down for a fight you should win.

if you fight pacquiao and lose, even if the fight wasnt for the belt, can you even look at someone in the eye and say that you are the welterweight champion? when you lost to a guy in a welterweight fight? can you even pretend to say that you are the welterweight champ when a juniorweight beat you in a welterweight fight?

i bet he'll say "oh, im still the welterweight champ because we fought at 145 and not 147." if he lost at 145, it's still a welterweight fight. some champion he will be, then that belt will be really meaningless. all hail the WBO Welterweight Chump.

i really don't understand why cotto is playing hardball while he defended his belt against clottey and weighed 146 lbs, i do understand that he makes it as a bargaining tool but what else does he want?. what's the worth of that title if he losses to pacquiao which am not also confident of..

putting his belt on the line makes this a more meaningful fight and doing otherwise is obviously only for the money and not legacy wise..

i say scrap the fight and pac to fight mosley at 145 lbs for the title and make history for the legacy of both fighters whose willing to risk everything..

Did you even read my initial post??? First, If Cotto shows up to the weight in at 147, 146, or 145 it should be his own decision, not the challenger's. Then, if it's for HIS TITTLE, Why would the challenger make more money???? And besides getting less money he has to pay the organization's fee???? I think thats totally ****ed up!

Wow alot of ******s on here nowadays. Pac cant win the title if the fights not at 147 dumbass:nut Pacman demanded the fight be at a catchweight. Cotto did'nt. Do you really think Cotto doesnt want the fight at 147? But because Pac feels Cotto will be too strong at 147 he demanded a catchweight. At the same time he's keeping himself from winning a "coveted" 7th title. None of this is of Cotto's doing. So for ****sake what about this don't you understand?

what's ****ed up is cotto's choice not to put his title on the line which is a ***** move, shows only that he's fighting simply for the money not legacy..

and btw, pacquiao has all the bragging rights in the world, he earns it..

    LOL!!!!

Guido... do you realise that cottos belt means nothing in this fight when discussing its legitamacy, because... the belt HAS NONE.... he is not the welterweight champion any more then clottey, margarito, cintron, berto, ect.... Mosley is the champion. These are not two upcoming or fringe fighters that need an alphabet title to add some validity to their resume and who they are or to get their name out there, this is Cotto, and Pac.... no trinket adds to that. Pac and camp are just being worse divas then mayweather almost.

But of course, pac wants to become 'a welterweight champion' WITHOUT fighting at 147, and WITHOUT fighting the real champion, so you really want to talk about ***** MOVES here? i can tell you... it aint cotto.

a title is a title none the less and i know it's his choice to either put it on the line or not, but why not, is it because it's a catchweight and he's not confident of winning (why agreed to have the fight in the first place) or he just chose not to for the sake of having a title win or lose..

either way, a ***** move and i say scrap the fight..

Why are you so goddamn dumb? Cotto didnt want to pay the sanctioning fee, then Arum himself agreed to pay it. end of story. moving on......now that the belt could be up grabs theres a little problem of a WW title being won at a catchweight(can't be done). Now if Manny said(he makes the rules)the fight will be at WW then there would not be an opportunity for simpletons like yourself to get so ******edly confused.

True words. I like Cotto but he's behaving like a spoilt child. I believe it was the conversation with DLH on the golf course. I'm sure DLH told him to get as many advatanages as he could in the ring - 'let Pac have the money advantages but make sure you have the ALL the advantages in the ring, don't underestimate him like I did.'
