McCall's claim to fame is sparring with Tyson, he isn't going to say he got his ass kicked most the time when Tyson was f*cked from other training

Hence the italics in the claim, I suspect Tyson had McCall down more than five times during their sessions...

Boxinginsider.com: You sparred hundreds of rounds with Tyson, right?

Oliver McCall: “I guess I sparred more than 300 rounds with Tyson and he never knocked me down once. But I put him down once. We had a hell of a battle every time. That’s why he paid me $2,000 a week.”

Boxinginsider.com: You’ve never been knocked down, true?

Oliver McCall: “I’ve never been down sparring or in a fight, amateur or pro. In fact, I’ve never been shook up. I can take a helluva shot.”

LOL and Lennox Lewis was not knocked down in sparring either, Lamon Brewster never sparked him...

Any professsional who has done proper sparring for as long period as McCall has, has hit the deck. You really believe with his past record (substance abuses), McCall never had an off day sparring with Tyson?

    Chuvalo makes the same claim.

Chuvalo was another damn tough fighter, but near the end both Frazier and Foreman were on the verge of decking him.

I do not know who he sparred with in his 60s best, but I am guessing he was never brought in for distance and timing work, but proper sparring, where accidents happen every now and again.

The reality is George and Oliver are proud and tough men who are worried that admitting weakness will ruin their reputations and I do not blame them.

I'm not saying whether it's true or not but this is from his own mouth. Watching his fights, it's not hard to believe his claim because he did a chin made of iron.

I do think though that had someone ever decked them, they would come out and say it because it would be recognized as quite a feat.

Foreman wasn't on the verge of decking him. In fact, it was probably a bad stoppage. George claims he got hit with 1 other good punch after the jab that sent him toward the ropes. Then he started bombing but missing. Apparently the ref stopped the fight because his manager was reacting to his wife. His wife didn't like to see him get hit. I don't think Frazier was taking George down, either. I haven't seen his fight with Oscar but some make the claim he had a legit knockdown over him.

He had a brilliant chin, and I know you are not being literal with the iron chin comment, but he was human, and he did spar hundreds of rounds with prime Tyson. I just do not see how he avoided getting caught even once...

The referee saved him for his own good against Foreman. The end to the Frazier fight is sickening as George ends with a hideous eye injury (the eye lid doubled up tucked into the socket).

I am not putting down (sorry, that is awful) Chuvalo, I have always claimed him as the owner of boxing's finest chin, ever, but my point is even George must of hit the deck in sparring.

It's a plausible assumption. Heck, likely. But it all goes on the assumption they're lieing. George seems somewhat honorable. He looked bad after the Frazier fight. Apparently, Foreman said years later to him that he was "so tired after that barrage of punches that he was glad it was stopped." Chuvalo seemed fine at the time. It was a bit of an early stoppage but Chuvalo kind of curls up in a ball when he's getting banged on so I guess I can see what the stoppage happened.

I've seen a picture of Chuvalo after the Frazier fight and it was a sickening sight. I do think that it was a bit of a freak incident however, it's not like Frazier was breaking everybody's orbital bones with his left hook.

George Chuvalo is honorable? I seen him critizize Foreman for going the distance with Gregoria Peralta who was a much better fighter than Chuvalo. I seen Chuvalo critizie Foreman for fighting Shannon Briggs who was a better fighter than Chuvalo. Most boxers are liars and try to build themselves up. I am sure somebody dropped Chuvalo in sparring and i am sure both Foreman and Frazier would of knocked him down eventually
