Thing is Cotto weighs in at 145 then has to rehydrate and panic to get fluids and food on to rehydrate where as Pacquiao can eat and drink what he likes even before weighing in....they are winning fights on the scales. Remember Pacquiao weighed in heavier then De La Hoya on the Hbo Weigh In's. He's not as small and light as people think....I'm starting to lose time for him.

why, Cotto will have agreed to weigh at 145lbs the rules stipulate you have to be under 147lbs to be a welterweight so the title should be on the line

as both boxers will weigh under 147lbs

just about to bring taht up as my next bit for backing on my arguement i believe it was 156lbs and Hopkins even offered to fight at 154lbs

    also as i said before

Terry Norris and Meldrick Taylor fought for the LMW title at about 152 or something

Welterweight isn't only under 147, its any weight under 147 which includes 145 and 146.

See the difference? For the title to be on the line BOTH boxers have to have the option to weigh in at the 147 limit.

Hopkins-De La Hoya? The fight was set at 156 yet the Middleweight Title was on the line.

(I'm arguing for argument's sake here, pretty bored )

This is a great fight and should happen. But if it doesnt i dont think it is Cottos fault. He is the title holder and if Pac/Roach wanna itle fight they should meet hm ay 147. Catchweights are pointless, they jus leave the door open for excuses.
