Come on im a fan of Campbell but seriously you think there's a fighter alive that doesn't know when you tell a doctor you can't see they wont stop the fight? im horribly dissapointed.
Juan Diaz eye was in worse shape than Nate's after nate butted diaz. Diaz didn't quit he lasted all the way!
The cut might not have been the worst but it was bad. The fight should have been stoped and the ref is a dumb a@#
And you think Wright could see with blood coming out of his eyes? What about Vitali left eye? It was one of the worst i ever seen and the blood keep going in Vitali eyes in the Lewis fight but Vitali continue on like a man.
Campbell was correct the cut was caused by a butt...HOWEVER there was an uppercut that was landed right after the headbutt that the Ref saw as what caused the cut. It will not be overturned but a rematch maybe ordered. Campbell wanted the fight stopped at that second because he know had he come out for the fouth round the fight would have gone to the cards and he would have last via tech dec. It was smart and cowardly at the same time, I think that Campbell know it wasnt his night and thought that he could get a ND and try again in a few months..
People shitting on Nate need to take a step back and hold on with that. Like someone said, what's to gain if he possibly has/could have had a detached retina. The only one who knows whether he quit or not is Nate, and I think, as he is someone risking his livelihood, hell, his very life for our entertainment, we owe it to him to give him the benefit of the doubt. A rematch should happen, and it should be a barnburner. This coming from a big Tim Bradley fan, for what that's worth.
Man in boxing it's always a risk so it's no excuse of Nate took an easy way out. Wright was cut badly by a headbutt by Hopkins. Did Wright took an easy way out? Hell no. Didn't Campbell head butt Diaz? If so did Diaz took the easy way out? Hell no and his left eye was closing fast in which he couldn't see but did he quit? Hell no.
In another thread I agreed that it does look like Nate took the easy way out, but I stand by what I said. If he says he couldn't see, then we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Nothing is gained by Nate Campbell getting a detatched retina or something. Look what that kind of injury did to Lamon Brewster. Ruined him. Nobody here is in any position to say that Nate could, in fact, see. Nobody.
If Nate can't continue then that's that. If he doesn't think he should continue then he shouldn't have to. It should be a TKO loss on his resume and there should be a rematch. Shitty night for boxing in what has been one long continuous pile of **** for the past 3 or so weeks.
I guarantee you both did complain about couldn't see but both refuse to take the easy way out in which both fought like a man. Campbell just became the new Rahman.
