I don't see how there is even a real debate or discussion about this. I am a huge Toney fan and thought Rahman quit like a woman in their fight, but there was never any doubt in my mind that the no decision was correct. Those rules are in place to protect fighters so they don't get hurt. If a guy can't see, he shouldn't go out there, if he's seeing spots that could be signs of brain trauma he shouldn't go out there.

Do I think Campbell quit? Kind of, but that doesn't matter. The rules are in place for a reason. If you say there shouldn't be a rematch, fine, but that was as clear a NC as you can get.

Agreed. That being said, I still can't believe that Rahman got a title match after his sad display.

True. I think we're basically in agreement here. Like I said, situation being what it was, TKO is absolutely correct call. Got a feeling that video will make it a NC though, rightly so, if you have the video to review which the ref did not. He made a call and stuck to it, and props to him.

I'll say the ref ****ed up bigtime.

Rules says if the fighter cannot continue because of an accidental head butt inside 4 rounds then it should be NO CONTEST. If it happens after the 4th round then go to the scorecards.

In this scenario . . . the point of refference is whether the Ref called it headbutt or legal punch.

If he called it legal punch and Campbell refused to continue then TKO is correct.

If he called it headbutt . . . even if Campbell refused to continue it's automatic NC because it's within 4th round.

It should be changed to a no contest.

    I think officially it's been ruled a RTD 3 not a TKO 3.

I think that cut wasn't from a punch... It's from a headbutt... It affects Campbell very much since it bleeds directly to his eye...

This fight should be ruled a No Contest... I don't care if they have a rematch or not but this fight should be an NC...

no contest it was only the 3rd, accidental head butt not a punch caused the cut... stupid decision.

Cut was never ruled to be by a punch. Therefore, the right decision was made.
