Jesus, I still have to laugh at this. Monson and Overeem beating Lesnar. What a joke.

Those two fights would be the first two deaths in the UFC.

The truth hurts. Like i said credible opponents. Only fanboys are quick to write off studs like Monson and Overeem.

not saying monson is without talent he just would get his ass whipped like randy did i would pick randy today against monson. and overeem would get put on his back and pounded out not only by lesnar but by mir, randy, and id pick gonzaga to beat overeem. he is a nice heavy though id take him over brett rogers

Yes, it's ridiculous to think that a huge heavyweight with some of the best striking in the HW division and an equal, if not better, groundgame to Mir could possibly beat the "great" Brock Lesnar.

I don't hate Lesnar and I believe he should be the favourite against Overeem, but suggesting that Overeem wouldn't be a credible threat to him is ****ing ******ed.

Mir doesn't do anything better than Overeem, he would get assraped on his feet. Old Randy would get tossed around by Overroid and Gonzaga crumbles as soon as he gets hit.

It's so ****ing funny how overrated Mir got for beating an over the hill, sick Noguiera. You think Overeem couldn't have done the same? Or any other heavyweight with decent striking?

overeem has a good standup, BUT lesnar would take him down and from that point on it would be all lesnar, smashing those hammerfists until the ref either stops it or overeem taps repeatedly. a fight with monson goes the same way except lesnar probably keeps it standing a little longer due to monsons deficiant striking than against overeem

Credentials maybe, but they are not the as big of a threat. He handles both of them easier than Lesnar no question. Not to mention one gets 15,000 the other gets 1,500,000 views. Ones for the biggest orgs belt, the other is maybe for strikeforces if they are lucky.

Two of the dumbest things ever written:

    1. Mir doesn't do anything better than Overeem
    2. Old Randy would get tossed around by Overroid

    1. Mir is one of the best in the world on the ground in MMA, probably top 3 or even the #1 off his back. A few guillotines is nothing compared to Mir
    2. Randy is one of the best fighters in the clinch in the history of the world, a guy with poor wrestling isn't going to throw him even when Randy turns 80.

And only a hater with blinders on can't see that Lesnar is clearly one of the best HW's in the world. Regardless of record, you can just see it.

Your hatershades are just blocking it.

    Good post.

I would just like to say that those that discount Monson have to remember how Mir defeated Lesnar. Monson is probably as dangerous on the ground as Mir, if not more. Mir's length may pose different types of problems, but that is not what I'm trying to get at here.

I am Monson's biggest backer on here, and he probably does have a better top game than Mir. But his style is really top game dependent, his attacks from guard are not in the universe of Mir's.

But you are dead right, Monson is a threat to just about anybody; and a threat to absolutely everybody if he is on top.
