With all the Golota talk, what about Sosnowski - Adamek?

I know Golota draws a lot of people and its no surprise. He has many fans in USA and Poland... In Poland hes like on newspapers all the time.

Sosnowski, who in my opinion is the best Polish Heavyweight right now not Golota, would be a tougher fight for Adamek imo. Although, it wouldn't be as big. Sosnowski is popular in the Polish communities in England and some fanbase in Poland.. but he is still no match draw wise to Golota or Adamek, but he still has a good draw and although it wouldnt make as much as Adamek- Golota, but still a solid amount....

Both are no strangers in going to wars with their "giving it their all" styles, like Briggs too. Sosnowski is pretty fast for such a bigger man. And the best part is, he is solid like a rock...not like the fat American blobs.

Adamek will be the smaller man in height, but Sosnowski is a good solid 225 pounder.... Adamek could get up to the 220s in his first fight... Sosnowski would be a little more bigger in size than Adamek, but not by a whole lot.

I belive Sosnowski could hold up to Adameks punches. Hes a tough ass ****in kid, not like them posers like Bonin. He always fights and gives it his all.. He was in the hospital before his fight vs. Pianeta and still faught.

I think Adamek could take Sosnowskis punches. Sosnowski punches pretty good, his problem is that hes not a good finisher. So even if he does knock down Adamek, which probably wouldnt happen, Adamek would stick and move and fight on the rest of the round with Sosnowski looking for the kill, which he is not good at.

Adamek also is tough going into the Briggs I fight with a broken nose.

Man, I can just imagine how much fireworks would be in this fight!! :thumbsup:admin

Tough one to pick as well...but this fight would be Grade A awesome in terms of excitement. :bbb

lol sosnowski is a 6/10 fighter, not particularly big so yeah a big of speed but still tends to plod along quite a lot

not sure how **** golota has got recently but he'd have to have got even shitter than i thought to be sosnowski level

Id say hes a solid 7. He does plod sometimes...but thats usually in the later rounds..

Golota was **** since the Bewster fight really...

And that 2 year layoff did numbers. Golota is a much bigger and slower guy now. Hes not as solid and morbid as Albert.

Danny Williams, Francesco Pianeta(even tho a Draw) > Mike Mollo and Kevin McBride.

Zuri Lawrence is on par with Ray Austin.

and if you wanna take it another step furthur.... Manuel Pucheta > Jeremy Bates.

Its the 2 year layoff that killed him

Sosnowski is pretty crap if you ask me. Golota is at least a big name both in Poland and abroad. I have no idea how he draws in Poland, but he's a no name here.

Zuri Lawrence is about 3 levels down from Ray Austin, and Lawrence pretty thoroughly beat Sosnowski. He looked better against Pianeta, but part of that is because Pianeta did very little in their fight.

Taking on Sosnowski doesn't seem to do much to help either his profile or his wallet though. If he's going to fight someone with no name in the US, he might as well go after some of the cruiserweights who are decent draws in Europe, like Arslan or Huck.

No i think Lawrence is on par with Austin... Maybe a tad higher for Austin, but not much .

But also, what has Golota done since his fight vs. Austin? He hasent done anything at all. Sosnowski lost to Lawrence, went up to be a warm up fighter for Williams, and KOs him, and fights to a draw for the EBU. (ok EBU may not be a good belt like WBC , WBA, IBF, but it still holds a solid amount of prestige.). Also Arguable he won that fight.

Sosnowski would help his wallet in Poland. Not as much as Golota, but i think a good amount of mmoney for both.

Plus, what looks better on your resume:

A huge slower shot Golota or a prime, fast and tough Sosnowski?

Sosnowski holds more contention to a world title shot than Golota does right now.

LOL is right... Sosnowski lost to Zuri Lawrence, who is a border line D level fighter.

Plain & simple...this fight is all about $$$. An Adamek Sosnowski fight would not command the kinda $$$ that they have been offered.

Plus, fighting Golota is ridiculousy exciting for Adameks 1st fight at HW. After this, B Hop in January.

Because HBO wants to make that fight!

As long as Golota doesn't disable Adamek.

I'm wondering, if Adamek doesn't beat Golota, will B Hop still be there waiting & HBO still hot to trot for that one?

    :think

Maybe not 3 levels, but below. Austin had a legitimate draw with Ibragimov, and knocks guys out. Lawrence has zero career KOs, and while he has some skills, he's still something like 4-15-1 against quality opposition.

The bigger point though is that Sosnowski is a nobody. If Adamek wanted to face someone who would work his way up the rankings, he'd take on someone with a higher profile in Sosnowski. It's not as if Sosnowski is even a huge name even with the Polish-American fanbase, and I assume, based on his opposition, that he's not much of a name in Poland either. The point of Adamek moving up is to make money, and fighting Sosnowski doesn't help him there.

Anyway, as someone's said, this is good for his first fight at heavyweight, does Golota. And it gets a massive national audience. it'll probably be shown in America on some minor channel or on delay.

Sosnowski might make sense later. We don't know if he was in shape, if he had notice, for Lawrence do we? He looked better knocking out Danny Williams and he deserved to beat Pianeta.

    Golota makes sense for money/notoriety.

Sosnowski makes sense for national rivalry - if there's no money in America, there will e in Poland - and is also in the WBC top 20. So it makes sense in building up to a title shot.

HBO will be jittery about coming up with the extra half million that Duva and Golden Boy want in order to make the fight. They can't committ to $3.5m until they have next year's budget planned. A heavyweight fight is a big risk. I don't think HBO will give it thumbs up until after October, and by then Hopkins will likely have looked elsewhere...Reckon Adamek v Golota will be a smash hit, and that they bring Cunningham over to Poland or just fight Wlod instead.

Sosnowski is probably as popular in Poland as he is in the U.S. Mariusz Wach might be on the same level, maybe better but it's too early.

The guy who knocked out Danny Williams. That was not cool. He is a pretty good fighter though. I would like to see him get a big fight. someone like Rahman, Maskaev, Brewster, or something.
