True, we shouldn't be too down. We are producing world class boxers, and top amateurs, top talents as good as anywhere else.

Yeah i agree lads we do produce fighters who can fight at a world class level. But the production line is not great atm that was really part of what i was trying to get at. I really hope our up and comers can do it because we need them to do it for the sake of british boxing on the whole.

I don't think the production line is bad at all. Look at the bunch of amateurs that have just come out, as good as we've ever had really in terms of amateur success.

It's between turning pro and reaching the top that worries me. Whether they get the right matches, right coaches, think about the sport as a sport and not a pub brawl. All the factors that need to come together to produce a truely world class boxer.

good to hear young GP :good

i always imagined you to be someone who was methodical, exhibiting little skill and no finesse, with a tendency to ignore combinations and lacked mobility :D

    I agree.

I'm not saying were in dire straits cos we aint although tv wise we are... i just think when we get to top level we change tactics because were inferior and that bothers me.

I think we have two to three good fighters on rise who will do well and keep boxing going and as you said the amateurs we have got some good lads coming through but we just gotta hope they transition well.

Who do you guys see for the future? I don't think Brook or Mitchell are good enough for real world class.

Me neither (sorry Kev if you read this).

I guess the amateurs are the best hope. Though I had a bit of fun comparing them its all pointless until we start to see how they fair at the next level. I think Jefferies is the furthest ahead in his development but perhaps the least talented, then DeGale and Gavin, BJS has a long long way to go and a lot of time and needs to be in better shape.

Yeah i agree i like that Kevin came on here and gave up his time...seems a nice lad but i don't see him going further then maybe winning a title (WBO) then holding it for one defence maybe two max.

Brook hasn't been really tested till now Jennings will give him something to think about....but even beating him look at that division...that's one hell of a division i think he be smart waiting for his chance at world title.

We also have Groves and T Dickinson. Both of these should reach Euro level hopefully if they continue to improve.

Lets not forget our heavyweight hopefuls, Price and Fury!

Yep, Kevin came across as a great, level headed bloke but you've got to call 'em as you see 'em and I'm sure Kevin would appreciate that.

Yep i agree. I do think though he will improve under Roach and then i hope to change my views on him. I definatley feel he has a world title in him just not a long reign..maybe Roach will yet again do a great job.

To be fair he was the first to admit his defemce needed quite a bit of work, hopefully Roach is the man to do it.
