I made this thread for several reasons, I cant be arsed going into the reasons right now, the thread will/should unveil itself so to speak ..... I am a massive fan of both boxing & MMA & to cut a long story short, I dont see any possible way for a sane person to claim anyone other than Fedor to be the no1 fighter of all time.

To me, its a no brainer, I cant see a strong argument for any other fighter... period.

Ive yet to see a poll finish with a 0 on an option in all my yrs here on ESB.... technically this one should but ESB is ESB & I`ll let the loonballs take over.

    :think

    Yes in an absolute sense.

In a pound for pound sense, not quite sure.

No-one else has been as dominant in their weight class than Fedor has been in his, Ive never even seen the man in any sort of panick/trouble.... his completeness & coolness under pressure just blows me away, the man seems to have no weaknesses.

I'm not saying he isn't, but ones clear cut, ones not.

He might be the best pfp over the course of a whole career, but at moments GSP, Anderson Silva, and Torres have looked better. So yea I think he is over his whole career, but on those special nights those mentioned have looked better.

fedor has been in trouble many times in fights. he has been rocked alot, but he has the ability to recover and keep his composure.

that is the main factor in my saying that right now he is probably the best ever. ive never seen someone with such great recuperative abilities ontop of having probably the most well rounded skills in mma ever

I would say so, the man hasn't lost a fight yet, Too bad his pace has slowed down the last few yrs but he should still have some good fights in him yet.

We're talking about two people in a large square room no weapons no advantages. One person comes out alive.

If he fights and beats Lesnar there can be no doubt whatsoever. As it is, I still say yes.

Are you freakin serious? Fedor has what 30 MMA wins, and hasn't legitimately lost? Lesnar has fought like 4 fights, and lost once...He's beaten a Frank Mir, and an old Randy Couture. Oh wait...I forgot....He F5'ed the freakin Big Show in WWE! Those two wins, and that F5 qualify him as the best fighter, or 2nd best (depending on what happens if he'd fight Fedor) in the damn world!!!
As for Fedor it'd seem he's the best pro fighter of any kind. I mean c'mon...Were talking about "greatest fighter caught on FILM" here. Jet li has been caught on film, Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Worlds strongest man Marius Pudginaski (I know I tore his name up LOL), but c'mon here. Just because somebody is an actor, just because they do a different sport, anything they could actually be the best fighter in the world. I bet there's very few MMA fighters that are going to grapple with 300 pound strongmen, and that's all some MMA fighters have.

Honestly though when you look at it like that there's really no such thing. Just like in boxing, or MMA...Styles make fights. Cotto beats Mosley, Margarito beats down Cotto, Mosley beats up Margarito. If you look at those 3 it's hard to classify a best. You could easily look at Fedor, and Fedor's resume, and qualify him as the best MMa fighter in history, but you could not make the assumption he beats 10th degree black belt monks in China.......
The best is usually an opinion......
