That everyone needs a gun in the hood arguement is so lame.

Thats what got Vernon Forrest to be killed.

Im sure the judge is gonna be real sympathetic to hearing that.

If he was doing so well and had so much going for him, he should have distanced himself from his ghetto hood and lived straight.

A convicted felon buyin a guy twice, come one now, thats just sheer stupidity.

I am a felon just like him,, he is a stupid **** to have a gun and deserves to be punished. I would never own a gun period! Dude has enough money to hire a bodyguard if he thinks he needs protection

Free James Kirkland. The man has a promising career ahead of him. He wasn't out robbing anyone with the gun, nor did he shoot anyone or himself with it. The man doesn't deserve to have his entire life ruined over a gun that wasn't used.

I hope he gets out before it's too late for his career, but he should have been more careful, not a wise decision he made. I wanted to see him fight more.

Being on papers(probation)you are told what you can and can't do. You can not have a gun. He knew what he was up against and didn't care obviously. He will do some time. He had already been convicted of armed robbery and decides to carry a gun. See ya partner. This was just dumb. I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover but the guy just looks mentally challenged.

Kirkland is where he deserves to be In jail for a long long time. He is , and always will be , a street punk. Guys like Bernard Hopkins & George Foreman both came from meaner streets than Kirkland they turned their lives around. Both are now content & very rich men.
Kirkland it seems never will get away
