Dibella is examining a possible unification bout for Berto against the newly crowned IBF champ Hlatshwayo. Should Berto be victorious another unification match against the potential Mosley-Clottey winner would indeed be tantalizing. :yep
No way they'll do that. This fight should be main event on its own. And I really can't understand people who say they're not interested in this fight. Two top welters facing each other with a title on the line... What's wrong with that?
I was refering to one of ESB's rules: No matter what, you must hate on Berto. :yep Seriously now, I actually like Berto. Can't really say why he's being hated on so much around here. Anyways, this isn't this thread's topic...
He's been babied rather badly. I mean they give him a rather decently easy test in Collazo and the man damn near ****s it up. They feed him an easier test in Urango and he put on one of the most disappointing shows on the big stage in recent months. I used to be a fan, but damn...get this guy a REAL fight already and let's see what he's made of. My guess...along with the majority of this board...he aint got much. But he's humble and charitable so I won't hate too much on the guy. I like him as a person...not so much as a boxer.
Oh ok. I was ready to break out dancing Hammer all over your face. Berto's hatred does indeed run rampant on these boards. I however have taken the contrary stance and applaud his exciting fighting style. (Well except for the Urango hug fest). I changed my mind. :hammertime It's hammer time!!!
Who the **** asked YOU? Ok seriously, you make some good points about him, especially the "get this guy a REAL fight already and let's see what he's made of" part. The fact his team are very-very careful with the fight planning probably is what bothers most people. BUT, Collazo and Urango aren't bums, they're good fighters and Berto -although not in any way convincingly- passed the test. I gotta say I was more dissapointed with his display in the Urango fight, I expected it to be some kind of clinic. Boy was I wrong.
