good news, he could use the extra stamina....honestly i think he's only gonna benefit from the catchweight and being written off as "damaged goods"

That's a long camp, but he should be in phenomenal condition. My initial senses tell me Pacquiao will win because of speed and what I consider Cotto's possible dwindling punch resistance, and most importantly, I am still personally uncertain of his mentality since the Margarito fight. I thought perhaps I saw hints of it against Clottey but he didn't try to push Cotto like he should have.

With all these things considered, I am like 50/50 on the fight. Cotto has some advantages too so it's tough to call for certain right now but I lean towards Pacquiao's speed being maybe the biggest factor, but Cotto could off-set it with his tremendous left-hand (mainly the jab), if he sticks to a good game plan.

I hope he doesn't overtrain, 3-4 months is a long camp.

You have to really admire Cotto's tenacity. He took a beating some fighters would never come back from, but his reaction is to take a very tough fight with Clottey then start an intense training camp for Pac-man.

Cotto will make the weight very easy I think, and I'm glad that will not come into play. If Pacquiao wins then it doesn't take away from his victory. Cotto made 146 last time and with such a long camp, 145 should be very easy.

That would be my only concern. He should just gradually increase the intensity rather than going full-go from the start.

****, do you really think so.

I'd have him blasting it for four months.

Sorry Jeff, it seemed a little obvious. However, if he's doing road work now, its presumably to ensure he enters camp at a reasonable weight and not bloated.

As a professional athlete, I personnally think aside from the odd 7-14 days rest, these guys should be in the gym ticking over all the time.

Just cranking it up for 8 weeks ahead of a fight.

I'm going to patent it as the Don't listen to Ricky plan.

Stamina will not be an issue. Cotto will be stalking Pac all night. Cotto is to big to strong and to sound a fighter for Pac. I would be a little worried for Cotto if Pac had the technical skills of a Mayweather or judah.
