I'm happy enough about Andy Lees next opponent Anthony Shuler 20(14)6(4) not to bad and at least Andy is headlining the show.More importantly Angel Hernandez is fighting on the same card a great situation would be for both to win and then face each other next. This would be a very positive move for Andys career.

An article I wrote makes the front page of wikipedia today!
Of the millions of articles on wikipedia one that I wrote has been chosen to be its lead article for today. Millions of people use the website everyday so its some decent exposure for "our Mike".

Rogie is 1/6 and sexton 7/2 at paddy power ,
I was going to have a bet but find no value those feeling brave would see a lot of value in sexton.
Andy lee is 1/33 which is outragous

Egan the only loser in Stadium

    Saturday, 1 August 2009 23:10
Ken Egan was beaten by Sweden's Babacar Kamara as Irish boxers recorded eight wins out of nine - including six wins out of six over Great Britain - at Saturday's Round Robin tournament at the National Stadium in Dublin.

Egan, a silver medal winner at the 2008 Olympics, lost out 17-13 to Kamara - who beat Egan in the last 16 of the AIBA World Championships in Mianyang City, China in 2005 - in a thrilling light heavyweight contest at the South Circular Road venue.

Ireland, Finland, Great Britain, Holland, Sweden and Uzbekistan are taking part in the competition which brings the curtain down on a ten day training camp at the South Circular Road venue.

Beijing bronze medalist Paddy Barnes continued his excellent form this evening, registering a comprehensive 10-0 win over GB's Thomas Stubbs.

Declan Geraghty, Ryan Lindberg, John Joe Nevin, David Oliver Joyce, Ross Hickey, Eric Donovan and Eamon O'Kane also won.

Joyce produced one of the performances of the night, chalking up an 18-2 victory over English featherweight Ian Weaver.

There will be one final session on Sunday morning beginning at 11am.

You have to remember that it took Egan a long time to qualify for Beijing. Also he was a constant under performer prior to going to the Olympics. Always had the quality but froze a lot on the big stage prior to 2008. Might sound harsh but its true.

He's just reverted to type rather than not being the 'force he once was'. He's gone back to being as hit and miss as he used to be rather than using the Olympics as a springboard and motoring on from there

Carl Frampton boxes on the 4th of September on Friday Fight Night. Great things are expected of this young pup.Barry McGuigan[Frampton's manager] has voiced an interest in running promotions in Belfast, and he has made inquiries into signing Ciaran McAuley[son of ex pro Eamonn and grandson of renown or notorious street fighter Coco McAuley from Ardoyne]. Once Barry signs up some more local talent, expect these events to occur.
