    Anybody remember him?

I recall him as one fine little package in the ring. I guess he and the white powder had an encounter and put him on the ropes for a while and then he returned.

    What was his final tally?

He was a consummate, quick, aggressive and very busy fighter if memory serves me well. Liked to fight inside.

Excellent fighter. Funny you couldnt say his name without saying Too sharp in between. He had a nice style for a little guy. Good boxer puncher with decent power. I think he was one of Cedric Kushners first champions.

I recall how he got his 'nick name' from his fathers barber shop. And I had always heard him spoken of as Mark 'two sharp' Johnson.

He stuck out in my mind because I can recall seeing him and telling myself he was better than average. I said that about Andrew Golata too and still think I am partially right.

Very quick and sharp(hence his name!) puncher, and a great technician. Sealed his legacy when he came back from his KO loss to Marquez and upset Montiel.

I thought he won the first Marquez fight too, and was winning the second as well despite being past his best. A pity we didn't get to see him fight with Johnny Tapia, would have been awesome.

Thats a great video. The last one is one I was just referring to in another post. Vincent Pettway knocked out Simon Brown, and he was punching in the air unconscious. Awesome. LOL Monte Barrett..

simon was never knocked out again...at least not liek that. on his feet

have you seen the whole fight?
one of my fav fights. brown hurts pettway early, pewttway land a rigth cross that hurts brown. then they headbutt the talk to each other they low blow then simon ploughs him thru the ropes onto the mat .
    "it's a foul fest now"

I did see it live. Wasnt it on ABC or something out of the ordinary? I remember it was during the day, and it was a crazy fight.

We were talking about him the other day in the "can't touch this" thread. I really really loved this guy - he was great to watch.

I do think he underacheived slightly though...or maybe I just overrated him!!!
