If you don't mind, I will make an suggestion, and that is for everyone to keep their politics or prejudices to themselves.A thread in support of Rogan or Sexton is all good and a bit of fun, but lads this is crazy.
As I stated the other day, I think it was an error of judgement on Sexton's and his managements part to try to appeal to a certain grouping of the Belfast community in that way. But we should all move on from this point onwards, and talk about the boxing.This is going to be a fantastic occasion,and I don't want it sullied by this dispute.

Ardy. Absolutely Spot On mate. Regardless of whether Sexton did this on purpose or whether it was indeed sightseeing I get the general feeling that come the end of Saturday night, he'll be regretting it somewhat :deal

STFU. I can respect anyone not wanting bring politics into this thread but the man is talking about his father's efforts here in fighting for a worthy cause and even if you don't agree with this cause you should not disrespect the man like this. :-(

 

Actually its a worthy cause to those who believe in it surely ? it may not be a worthy cause to someone who is a believer of the other side of the coin ?

Either way it doesn't bother me, but he shouldn't be preaching that stuff on this thread IMO

Regardless of wether or not the topic should have entered this thread, you shouldn't disrespect someone like that. Imagine it was someone's brother who was serving in Iraq or Afghanistan?

That's what I was thinking as well, Dan:good. I think I'll pass on it now, though! I was foolishly unaware, until I saw this thread, that in doing so the consequences and ramifications of such seemingly banal actions might land me in deep trouble! Thank God I've seen this thread- don't think I'll be taking a camera with me whenever I visit Belfast.

 

A million tourists visited these murals last year, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in NI. I have friends from England who came over last year, (they did a day trip - cheap £25 roundtrip tickets from Ryanair) and visited the murals and had a great day in Belfast.

You have to add the context with Sexton, i.e. the implication here is that he purposely went to the loyalist murals in East Belfst, in order to try and garner support from one side of the community.....Rogan is from a nationalist part of West Belfast.

Like I said, I personally would rather give Sexton the benefit of the doubt (even if he did this) and hope it doesn't come up again at the next presser, it will already be an intense atmosphere as it is.

 

Ah right, Gas:good. I really don't wanna **** of the locals in the future. Consider me a potential tourist once again:good. By the sounds of it, Sexton was being a silly boy and hopefully has had his hand slapped behind the scenes.

Now, can we all just talk about boxing again rather than politics please?
