Eddie Chambers is probably the fastest moving and punching (in combination) Heavyweight out there so because he was landing on Povetkin doesn't mean Wlad will ... I think if you take a look at the second half of the Povetkin vs Chambers fight ... Povetkin increased his pace double of what he showed in the first half.

Maybe so, but Wlad will beat the hell out of the *new guard* and send him home.

The *current guard* is too strong and skilled to be relieved of his duties, just yet.

    :good

But maybe check back in a four to five years, or so. Maybe then a new guard may be able to take over.

I wouldn't dismiss Povetkin so easily, Wlads one hell of a fighter, but Povetkin is no push over either. I'm leaning heavily for Wlad to use his jab to keep Povetkin outside like he normally does, but Povetkin is no dumby and has a heart of a lion. He's going to give Wlad his all he has and it wouldn't suprise me if he made a fight out of this. Wlad need someone that can push him, then his fights are fun to watch.

Povetkin would beat 90% of the Top 20 heavyweights. Wlad belongs in the other 10%.

My main concern is Povetkin's relative lack of pop. I think he can box well technically, but without that power it's not going to unnerve Wlad and put him on the back foot.

I see it going a bit like Wlad-Brock.

Yea I can see that too, but Brock is more a defensive specialist and might actually have more pop that Povetikin, Povetikin is more a offensive pressure fighter who can adjust well in the fight. The chambers fight kinda showed that. In the beginning, Chambers was countering him and popping him good, as the fight went on, Povetikin started moving better and was timing chambers counters and started to domonate. The one fighter that really reminds me alot of Povetikin is Mercer, they have a simular come forward approach. Mercer had more pop, but Povetkin is a bit better of an athelete and technique.
