George Groves sparring Dominico Spada before the italians challenge for the WBC title

  1. Good little clip:

Groves looks very comfortable in there against a much more experienced guy. He's getting some quality sparring by the looks of things and he's in control for a lot of this clip.

No rush of course, but can't wait to see him fighting at a higher level.

The future is bright for British Boxing guys!

Thanks:good. He's a genuine talent and, IMO, maybe the best prospect we have. Being kept away from the hype will obviously help him as well.

  3. Completely agree Losfer. Though I was impressed by Degale when I saw him in Manchester.

bare in mind that he is 19 so will naturally grow in the next 3 years like any guys does.

I reckon he could end up as high as cruiser. he is 6ft2. he looks in good shape and he is getting top sparring been in with Fragomeni, Froch was very impressed and now this guy.

You can tell he is a Booth fighter to becuase they are getting him big and strong, he fights like Haye.

you can see he hurts him.

I would fancy Groves over DeGale. DeGale got roughed up by Smith in training so imagine what Groves could do.

  8. 6ft2?? i thought he was under 6foot. Similar size to Calzaghe. I don't see him moving up to cruiser myself. i think he'll stay at Super Mid for quite a while.

I seen a clip on youtube of Groves putting a bit of a whooping on Frag, but it was taken down after a couple of hours.

Looks the best out of a pretty handy bunch of prospects.

I thought that as well. Groves' height is confirmed on good old Boxrec:

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, hopefully he'll do well at 168 and then we'll see if he moves up to 175. Too much time from now to start talking about it, though:good.

Same as the rest of the Hayemaker stable, mate- who knows?! Hopefully Sky will pick up the contract as they've all been out for a while now and it's starting to get frustrating for the fans let alone the fighters themselves.

Shame he is with Hayemaker, he has a load of talent.
