Margarito would be relentless and has the chin to his advantage it would be a war that i feel Margarito's wins via late tko.

this is true. i love mayorga and he would have made it a war BUT margarito was a consistent pressure fighter who wore down some damn good fighters; mayorga would swing for the fences and hit margarito flush...a lot but i don't see him getting knocked out by someone with the accuracy of ricardo. margarito would rake up rounds with body punching while mayorga's better movement (not saying much) and superior one punch power would keep it close. MD for Margarito

 

I think Mayorga could get a TKO victory over Margarito.

Mayorga one punch power is not to be tested but either way I think Mayorga wins this fight but it would be a competitive war.

A prime Mayorga would have beaten the crap out of a slow wide open guy like Margo. He stops Margo in 8.

 

i don't know if he stops him but he had way more one punch power. enough to certainly keep it interesting. for me margo's body attack would wear mayorga down to the point he'd be plodding by the 8th

 

Margarito by K.O.

Mayorga's style is only effective to those who box with a "classic" style.
His rhythm and shot's from weird angles confuse those fighter's who are used to the straight shot's & conventional hooks & jabs.

Margarito is the same way, Tony's pressure & higher output put's him ahead of Mayorga.

 

Mayorga in his prime was a clear level above Margo. He had an iron chin, faster hands and great power and was more skilled than Margo was. It would be a war as long as it lasted but I'd put my money on Mayorga who beat better fighters.

 

Sorry but, as bad as Mayorga is, he holds TWO victories over Vernon Forrest @ 147 and should have got the nod against Spinks. His resume @ 147 is lightyears ahead of Cheatarito.
