I pretty much see this as a 50/50 fight. I don't understand why Ward's odds are way out there to win the whole thing.

Here's an article with the Boone knockdown and the comments from Ward who seems a very professional fighter.

Yeah i don't like stay busy fights either but both need it more on Kesslers side.

I'm just watching him now...imo a lot more refined skill wise then Dirrell but Dirrell carries the heavier ammo coming into this competition. What i'm seeing so far is that Ward likes to box at range and shows alot of feints and throws the odd leeping left hook. Will he be cagey and saftey first like he was against Miranda and can he keep his calm against a much better and finer boxer in Kessler.

I think Dirrell has a lot of upside but he's up against the hardest style from the gate. Dirrell is not comfortable in keeping space and not disciplined enough for outboxing over 12 rounds. He'll come in, square up, and leave that stationary head ripe for a Cobra right cross. Second half of the fight Frochy just walks him down and probably ends it late. Ward is more skilled, less flustered and even more experienced

thanks for the article :good the kid has a good head on his shoulders

you're right Kessler badly needs it, he might've become stale, if i was to pick a winner i think Ward might have too much youth and switch-hit skills for Kessler, might be a slight replay of Calzaghe vs. Kessler from 8 to 12. this is the toughest one to call though

    Totally agree slip.

Dirrell has a horrible habit of backing himself into a corner and against Hamshaw got trapped within 30 seconds of opening bell, A lot of people think switch hitting is really smart but it's only smart when done properly and with least risk. Ward is slick and work his way out of trouble well and switch hits well rather then Dirrell who really bothers me the way he does it. I see Froch stopping Dirrell late on....a bit similar to the way he stopped Taylor....basically catching him then stalking him.

spot on :good we only have to look at junior to see what happens when switch hitting is done badly and just for the sake of it, it becomes counter productive

:deal i'm starting to get that impression. Kessler didn't have to much answer for Calzaghe down the home stretch. Fascinating thing is that we could trust Calzaghe where as Ward we don't know if he can hold it against a top fighter for 12 rounds and if he can handle Kesslers power but i do feel this fights getting closer and closer imo every time i think about it.

Calsaghe gave a blueprint in how to beat Kessler.... by boxing and moving (and also attcking his fragile body). Ward is good at boxing and moving but is also not looking like a Calzaghe either so I reckon Kessler will stop him late due to Ward's inexperience at that level. I f he won though, I wouldn't be shocked.

I don't think Ward has the output and inside game to beat Kessler, so I predict Kessler will win. Ward will not win :deal

inside? get outta here with that reckless talk

You don't need to fight on the inside to beat Kessler in fact that would be a mistake as it would give him the chance to land them big uppercuts, kessler fights in straight lines too much and hasn't shown the ability to adapt his strategy especially against someone like Ward.

Ward just needs to be Ward, because a slickster with angles will beat kessler on the cards especially through 9 to 12, he's not too versatile and that's what will give Ward the W

If Kessler can adjust and throw them big shots maybe, but from being on witness protection most of his career and being used as a Calzaghe punching bag i don't see how that can happen, Ward goes back and forth in stances and outpoints Kessler, no KO's in this one.
