Fedor is under legal obligation to fight for M-1 Global for 3 more fights. Before getting Fedor, UFC would have to get the agreement of M-1 Global. So there is no need to blame Fedor for anything. Why would M-1 Global release their best fighter and someone who is basically keeping the company alive?

Here is an aricle on point.

This has been obvious for what, 3 years now? The mma media is too dumb to report it.

I really think there was a contest to find the dumbest people in the world, people completely incapable of asking questions, people who were too dumb to do anything but cut and paste a press release. These people were then hired to report on mma.

In all seriousness, the real problem is that those I call zuffa zombies all come from reporting on something that isn't real, the wwe tele-theater and other similar television shows, as if they were actual sports. The delusional complex is thus the pillar of mma reporting.

Cop out, total bull**** cop out.

Fedor could easily buy that contract and come out ahead because of the higher pay he would get. He could also take his 20% and buy more or get the power to equal 51% and do whatever he wants with the contract.

Also the UFC would buy that contract no problem, no questions asked. The only thing they won't do is give a tiny company with a history of ruining any and every company they "co promote" half a stake for doing absolutely fuching nothing. Not to mention that in the USA you have commisions, both sport and gambling that would have a lot to say about this "co promotion"

The less money claim is **** too. A PPV cut will make him more than any other fight. 2m up front is far less than 1m up front plus PPV cuts from a show that's going to sell 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 buys at a bare minimum.

Obviously UFC tried that, and M-1 did not agree. How hard is that to understand? Look I'm as disappointed that Fedor is not in the UFC as the next person, but it's M-1 that should be blamed and not Fedor.

Right, but blaming it on "him not being a free agent" is the most transparent cop out I have read.

He is a free agent if he wants to be a free agent, it has no bearing on the negotiations; to blame it not getting done on him not being a "free agent" is just a complete lie and shows no respect to the readers intelligence.

It may just boil down to one thing, his word. Fedor said he is obligated to 3 more fights with M1 Global. Maybe Fedor see's this as keeping his word. I don't know this for sure, but it would not surprise me. Fedor seems like a simple guy. If Fedor has enough to keep his family from suffering, then it may be enough. Fedor does not appear to have the want to richer and richer.

or maybe just maybe Fedor accepted the better deal. His guarantee is better than what UFC could guarantee. His in a non exclusive contract. There is no baggage with him being in the EA MMA game. Fedor got a great deal from strikeforce.

At the end of the day it is as simple as Fedor ****ed the fans over.

He bitched out of the UFC were the only competition is left.

The deal that they made Fedor was incredible, there is no reason why Fedor shouldn't be competing in the UFC rightn ow.

I didn't mean he was scared of being in the UFC.

I mean he screwed the fans out of the best fight at heavyweight.

At some stage I hope Fedor will forget the business and think about the legacy.

He already has and its already written. Wether he ever joins the UFC is entirely immaterial. He made his legacy in PRIDE.

He has a great legacy but it could become better, this is irrefutable. Beat Lesnar and even Couture if he beats Nog. Hell, throw in Mir if he posts a good win.

Fedor has to make his legacy bigger because he can and he risks being toppled as the GOAT one day.

Yeah Ali could have made his legacy better by coming out of retirement to fight a young Mike Tyson. Fedor is already the greatest of all times. Its not even questionable. Wether fans of the UFC want to except that is completely immaterial. This is MMA NOT A BRAND led sport. If you are a fan of MMA you will except these stark facts and not repeat these tired lines about IF he faces Lesnar IF he faces Couture.. Its all moot and conjecture.

There's ALWAYS a new opponent on the horizon. If Fedor beat Lesnar the next question would be he needs to face so so. Bottom line is no he does not. He's paid his dues in this sport and can do as he pleases. His career and legacy is certainly not defined nor tainted by a bunch of bubble gum fans who've only been watching this sport since yesterday and repeating the same bull**** UFC propoganda thats all over the internet.
