It's all very well you saying that and you may well be right...but Roy has never proven he can beat these guys and they are more worthy of a fight than some of the drivel Roy fought - that much is undeniable.
No need to type in caps spazz. Name the fighters that Michalkewski beat that puts him in front of Woods or Tarver. Jones beats ATG's in Hopkins and Toney and wins a heavyweight title, something no middleweight has done since WW1, and needs to fight these chumps to solidify his legacy. :rofl:rofl:rofl
He's clearly a Mayweather fan as well!!! These fighters don't have to prove they're the best...they just are!! How proposturous!!
I agree that Eubank would give him a real battle...H2H he's much better than he's given credit for. Whilst Benn is really made to order for Jones, he does possess a huge punch and this in itself makes the fight dangerous for Roy.
nice to see a sense of perspective and objectivity regarding the matter, not a nuthugger by any chance?? instantly dismissing those great fighters off hand by predicting an easy jones win against all of them does them a great dis-service,its like me saying they would all beat him (so i have)... you base this on what ? his destruction of montell griffin your overlooking the punching power of benn and mclellan the pressure, pace and speed of calzaghe (calzaghe with a punch) the unorthodox brashness and teaque toughness of eubank the granite chin,in your face, hard as nails collins and michalkewski, well anyone with a head could see the problems he would pose! now im not predicting an outcome for any of them but in no way does jones beat em all, especially as easy as you think y' tool
The problem is, in "mythical" match-ups he does beat them all...I'd agree. But people like Danny Rand are the reason we don't get to see these fights. They'll try to say Jones didn't have to fight these guys as he was so much better, whilst also trying to justify his record by saying Woods is a good win!?!?!? It's the same with Floyd as well..if his fans (and I'm one of them) think he's sooo good, why are they not demanding he prove the haters wrong by outclassing the likes of Mosley et al rather than making excuses for him not to fight them?? Jones and Floyd are probably the 2 most talented fighters since Pea but they haven't fulfilled their potential in my eyes. We adore fighters like that yet call Cotto an overrated bum when he loses a fight to Margarito. Utter lunacy!!!
Honestly we dont know how many legit wins Roy has, he does have a history of Steroid abuse as well....
hmm says... not at Socrates cause he's my boy. c'mon take it easy and stfu... what others previously said... how many are "really legit"? It just makes you think........ persay if you followed his career. It's an alright point to bring up.
Mcclellan-I see this only being a comptetive fight 4 Roy...Roy Jones by Hard fought but clear UD Eubank-2nd RD TKO Prime Calzaghe-Roy Jones 3rd RD KO Collins-Roy Jones 3rd rd TKO Michalkewski-Roy Jones 11th rd KO, And we all really know what fighter has really has been ducking prime fighters and not facing the best and has a whole bunch of questions in his career, and trust me is not a Legend like Roy Jones Jr
I respect evrybodys opinions but 4 u 2 say Roy will get KO by three of those guys to me is delusional
Thats a fair analysis :good I still have a question mark about the benn prediction, and the Calzaghe prediction also. The young version of Calzaghe had much more pop than the later version, but he was also very reckless if he was tagged.I think RJJ may have been able to decision Benn, but had he tagged Benn early in the fight one of them wouldn't have heard the final bell.
come on eubank was also a counter puncher but Roy was about 5 times faster in terms of reflex and he had deadly combinations. No way eubank would have give him trouble
The only one I really blame him for (and I blame the other guy as well) is Michaeczewski. Same reason I blame both Calzaghe and Ottke for not fighting each other. Too much is left unknown without the matchup, and both had absolutely a ton to gain, both in terms of money and legacy. Also, anyone who says prime Calzaghe KOs prime Roy Jones shouldn't be taken seriously in my opinion. When they actually did fight (with a completely shot to **** Jones), if that had been a prime Roy Jones, Calzaghe wouldn't have even made it out of the first round. Even if you think Calzaghe lasts longer than that, there's very little chance he KO's Jones. Sure, he would have been one of the quickest opponents Jones had faced, but he wouldn't be anywhere near the top in terms of power, and even when Calzaghe didn't have hand problems, he had cumulative KO power, not one punch KO power.
