Martinez is fighting on September 12th so I assume Mitchell will have to wait until at least December to get a title shot.

Good news in my opinion. Burns would be a great fight in the meantime.

he really needs a tough fight before any world title challenge. burns should take him the distance, so a good prep fight.

Burns would give him 8/9 rounds and a good workout. I think jumping into a title fight without proper preperation would be a mistake and Kevs opponents have not been upto the standard a fighter needs if he wants to make a decent impact in the elite of a division.

mitchell beats burns imo burns is a great fighter but I feel mitchell under roach will be too much

mitchell will beat burns but that fight is exactly what mitchell needs in preperation for martinez, at least burns will trade for 8 or 9 rounds, plus its a moneymaker over here, the last thing i wanna see is mitchell blow away some unknown yank in 2 rounds under roach and then go straight in with martinez. big mistake!

you are so underestimating ricky burns my friend, the better the opponent the better burns you will see,no way will mitchell stop burns,me think your making your judgement on the old ricky and not the new, burns will burst kevins bubbly when they meet.

Ha Ha Bill. I think if Mitchell puts on a performance like he did at the MEN last month then Burns might very well stop him. Billy you know that Jigsaw dude is Mitchell (or its at the very least his best friend coz Mitchell was using that user for a Q & A the other day. Any chance we can set up a Q and A with Ricky or some of the other lads ?

Ricky Burns have improved allot in the last year and a bit, i think maybe he jsut made the step up in class a bit to soon. think thats actually since he teamed up with Nelson (yeh i just said something good about him) not sure how long they have been together but i think its since the loss to Carl Johanesson. Also get the feeling he seems to be living the life a bit more, he used to look really pasty on the scales and always looked weak to the body. Now he looks ripped and healthy.

I remember his win over Graham Earl was a real shock at the time Earl was talking about world titles and was undefeated. But going on with Arthur was risky and he fought Carl Johanesson when he was on a real role.

I still fancy Mitchell to have to much for Burns. Could see this and Jennings vs Brook being on the next Amir Khan PPV.

Mitchell and Burns number 1 and 2 with the WBO, which is a bit of a joke but what you gonna do.

eh rob you calm down saying positive things haha. its to rickys credit hes got himself in a great position so quickly, well just over 2 years to be exact, although i do beleive he will beat kevin mitchell, ricky is still improving and getting much stonger at the weight.
