I've heard of that before, maybe it was you who told me. I heard two defeats though, or was it four. No, 55-2.
Yes. I first knew about it in the 80s. Tyrell Biggs mentioned it in a KO magazine interview in 1987 which I found interesting. It's listed among the amateur bouts for Tyson listed on cyberboxingzone, which lists over 50 amateur fights for Tyson but is probably still incomplete (I know tyson took part in a lot of unofficial "smokers" in New York state in those days). who would you suggest? because his pro career was pathetic. how could somebody so great as an amateur be overlooked as a pro by good trainers and management. was it color was it money . i would say don king couldve had a hand in it maybe.
winky groom screwed wells up in the mike koranicki fight by making wells drop 15 to 20 lbs. wells felt weak and hungry and his decision making abiliities werent there. groom also had a knack for getting a fight for wells and then start training wells for that opponent and changing the opponent last minute .this happened several times during wells's pro stint. it was like groom was against wells. maybe he had side bets against his own fighter . theres is alot of dynamics that goes to the way wells was mishandled. you should as a fighter be able to trust your corner and depend on them. winky groom aka panama groom
Just googled it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g-cfOaXteY Yep Khan did stop him. It would of been an interesting press conference if they fought as Pro's
