This guys was the best in my opinion.:yep

I know there are some other great defensive fighters but Sweet Pea was on a whole different level.

    Sweet Pea was insane.

Locche deserves a shout out as well

From all the best specialist defensive fighters he was the best overall fighter IMO.

Meaning not only did he have some of the best defensive moves you will see but he also had world class offensive capabilities and skills.

For just straight up defensive ability I think Locche would be on par with the best guys I have seen on film..though his overall game is not as good as Pea.

pea had one of the best jabs in the world for years, was one of the best combination punchers and one of the best body punchers. his offense was spectacular and his accuracy was eery. giving how much time he spent NOT getting hit, the fact that he was able to effective mount offenses is incredible

locche was incredible but i find sweet peas defense a little more multi layered personally. he relied not only on swift head and body movement, reflexes and anticipation but slightly better parrying and use of the jab to disrupt his opponents attacks

its very important to take that into account when you're assessing a defensive fighter.
