We are not falling for the bullshite. The fight under rules is a title fight, but the catch weight thing still hangs over PAc's head because he negotiated for it. So in the future, who ever is the bigger star going up to the next division can ask for a catch weight, and get a title out of it. Bullshite!!!

Of course they will say the fight is for the tittle. The organization want to the collect 300K!!!!!!!!! But all Cotto has to do is relinquish the ****ing tittle.

Ok, nothing was sneaky about asking for a catch weight...it was weaselistic, but Pac asked for a catch weight fight and got a chance to win a title when the title holder can't even come in at the limit of his own division. It's ok, because if PAc wins, he'll hear it from posters...

 

Everybody understand that as long as is under 147lbs it can be for the tittle. What is not right is that challenger is making the ****ing rules. Contract is not signed yet. All Cotto has to do is to refused to sign until they eliminate the 145lbs limit from it. Even if he comes to the weight in at 146 or 145lbs. But he cannot allow a challenger to his tittle to set the rules. Shame on the organization for allowing that. They are supposed to protect their champion!!!

 

You really are ok with PAc asking for this fight at 143, and Cotto getting 145...and you believe this is a legit title fight. fuk all of the other 140 lbers who moved straight to 147 without a catch weight. You can call PAc the WBO ww champion if he wins REG, because I won't.

 

I'm not worried about what Cotto agrees to since it is his health on the line. I'm worried more about fighters who become draws in the future who start to dictate the weight of a champion who is a division higher than them that they can dictate what weight to come in at because the money is tempting to the fighter who is NOT the draw. Boxing should eliminate catch weight fights all together!!!

 

The WBO also claims that Zsolt Erdei merits a world title.

yes. as long as the champ is still closer to the max limit than it would be for the challenger at his own division limit. it is legal and is only for the brave. Not recommended for excuse makers.

How can you respect a guy like Manny Pacquiao for asking a catchweight bout for the title? How can you respect a guy who at first says the title wont be on the line and changes his mind the following week? Its BS to be honest asking the champion to weigh in at 145 when the limit is until 147. Cotto didnt complain when Clottey weighed in at 147 for their fight. Why cant Pac do that? Oh yeah he's scared.

 

Simple. Because we can respect Hopkins for making catchweight title fights :good
