    What ******ed logic!!!
    SYLES MAKE FIGHTS.

Mayweather struggled with Castillo whilst Hatton crushed him, what happened when these 2 fought???

I think Pacman is a better fighter than Floyd and should be ranked higher all time...but style wise, seeing how easy it was for Marquez to counter Pac, I pick Floyd H2H.

    Personally I think:-

    Pac beats Mosley
    Mosley beats Floyd
    Floyd beats Pac

For those that say because it's easy for Marquez to counter Pac(which it isn't), so obviously Pac would struggle with Floyd, keep in mind that Marquez is much more offensive-minded than Floyd is and that Floyd hasn't countered anyone with the kind of package that Pacquaio brings to the table. Floyd has better defense than Marquez, but he's also much more likely to clam up with that defense than throw a punch to counter Pac when Pac gets on him, he likes to wait for a break in his opponent's offense to work or if he gets a very wide swing, while Marquez is willing to risk more with his counter-punching in general. Pacquaio doesn't throw wide shots very often, and he throws very fast flurries of punches that are hard to counter. Floyd also generally just doesn't throw as many punches as JMM.

As to the common opponents, as others have demonstrated with examples, often that doesn't matter. I will mention though, that anyone saying Hatton was damaged goods after Floyd could make the same argument against Floyd when he fought Hatton, as the light-punching Luiz Collazo almost had Hatton out of there and arguably beat him in Hatton's previous 147 fight.

It's not the only time though, Morales boxed off the back foot against Pac much more than he normally does and to great effect.

It always seems to me that those fighters who try to get in Manny's face and fight aggressively (Barrera, Hatton and DLH) really struggle.

Morales also is a lot more offensive-minded than Floyd is even in boxing mode and he only did it successfully once against a lesser version of Pac. But your general theory is sound, basically if you're walking towards Manny's power for most of the fight, things are probably going to go badly for you. However, you also imo, have to establish your offense pretty well to get Manny to back off if you're boxing him, and I have my doubts that Floyd, who is usually safety first, will let his hands go enough to do that.

I agree with you. Oscar should have won, but lots of people are dazzled by Floyd's slickness, which mostly boiled down to running away and landing single pot shots at Oscar, who was the aggressor throughout. Judges are supposed to take into account who the aggressor is, for one simple reason: it's harder to hit someone who is running away than it is to hit someone who is coming toward you. In other words, a punch landed by Oscar should count more than a punch landed by Floyd. Much more.

Floyd Mayweather Sr agrees also said he scored it for Oscar. And he fought, so he knows the difference between fighting and dazzling.

    "new to boxing arent you?"

    yeah that's it lol

I just think that if Floyd fights the same fight against Pacman as he did against Oscar he may be in big trouble that's all.....

There is one particular aspect that that i have ignored to a certain point....and that may be discovered when Pacman fights Cotto....and that is concerning his ability to carry his chin and his power up to the bigger boys division....

You score fights by 1. Clean effective punches. 2. EFFECTIVE Aggression. And 3. Ring Generalship. NOWHERE does it say you score fights on simple aggression. You can "run" the whole fight, and if you land the more punches, the cleaner punches you win. You have no idea what you are talking about and people like you who dont know how to correctly score fights is what screws the sport up.

Floyd controlled the ring. He did not run. Infact that was probably the most stationary fight Floyd has ever fought. From round 8-12 Floyd stood in the center of the ring and tee'd off on Oscars dome with looping head shots. It was evident to anyone in and out of the ring who won that fight. get your eyes checked.
