Why would you classify me as a hater? Do you have proof of me "hating" on either Klitschko brother?

Like I say about either Klitschko they are talented fighters, they have dominated everybody they have fought since about 2005, and I have never said that Vitali is slipping or anything like that. I have always classed them as the best among average opponents. Just like Gomez is an average fighter.

Vitaly has clearly declined but is still VERY good.

Take a look at the Herbie Hide fight for example. Vitaly was in with a very fast HW and matched his speed with very crisp and fast punches.

The current version of Vitaly has noticably slower punches. However, he still has so many qualities that he is to be considered very strong against any fighter.

My opinion is that Vitali has lost a step or two, certainly since the Williams fight. Which can only be expected, he had a long layoff and is pushing 40.

His opponents in his comeback have been in complete fairness, made for him to look good. Peter was stylistically made for Vitali. Gomez was awkward, but he never had the kind of size, power or offense to really trouble Vitali.

Arreola is gonna get spanked whatever though. This guy is terrible. Power, he has, speed, defense, stamina, conditioning, skills, he does not. Vitali is gonna crush him, I would not be particulalry surprised if Arreola jumps all over Vitali early on and looks ok, but after a round or two, its a long sustained beating for fatty.

 

Um, McCall and Rahman are leagues better than Yanqui Diaz. What's your point?

 

The point is you can't rate a boxer a bum after he had a 1st round KO loss to a nobody.

Rather for Gomez, it proved that his endless disagreements with his German promoters, his cocaine habits and IRS problems weren't exactly beneficial to his concentration and discipline in the ring. He took Diaz lightly. Just like how Lewis took Rahman lightly.

It is completely irrelevant if Rahman was "leagues" better than Diaz.

 

He has slowed considerably and is nowhere near as agile as he once was, not that he was particularly agile before.

Actually, he lost a step (at least physically) before even become champion due to injuries and age.
Now he lost another step and is clearly past his prime (one punch power, handspeed, footspeed, reflexes), but still good and obviously more experienced.

 

Gomez would school Arreola

 

Vitali lost, like mentioned above, already 2 steps more from the 2 steps he lost from his best in the time he massacred Hide via a serious of big injuries to his back, shoulder and knees. Now age has added to this, he got slower. But it wasn't enough for Gomez, not for Peter, and before that not enough for Sanders, Williams and Johnson. I doubt it will be enough for Arreola, but there is always a first.

I could imagine that Arreola at first is doing unexpectedly well vs. the rusty Vitali, but in the end, I think Vitalis experience and grit can keep him in the fight until his volume of punches will land and take its toll. But the end of the road is nearing.

 

It's clear Vitali's lost a step or two since his peak days. He's less explosive and quick...but his current form is still good enough to beat these HWs handily. And I expect him to beat down Arreola.

Gomez, as a heavyweight, has a first round TKO LOSS to Yanqui Diaz.

That fact speaks VOLUMES about the quality of heavyweight that is Juan Carlos Gomez.

So, to answer your question, no - I'm not judging Gomez based on one fight. That said, Gomez has beaten NOBODY @ heavyweight and has a 1 round TKO loss to a first class BUM.

Gomez' career @ heavyweight is a JOKE...
