Actually, I would give Cotto full credit. However, if the boxing public in general won't give Floyd full credit for beating Hatton, then why whould they give Cotto full credit for beating Pac?

I never said Diaz was a great fighter, and no, he doesn't have a win as good as Quintana's over Williams. However, Larry Holmes doesn't have a win as good as Douglas' over Tyson. However, you wouldn't say Douglas is a better fighter based on that 1 win.

 

Hopkins was a 4/1 underdog vs. Tito. People still try to discredit that win because they claim Tito was too small.

 

Julio fought Rivera way after Julio lost to Quintana when Julio was undefeated lol. Julio hasn't been the same ever since his first bad loss to Quintana. But Julio in that time before facing Quintana was consider to be a future boxing star. Was David Diaz ever been consider a future boxing star? Hmmm.

 

Francisco Bojado was once considered to be the future of boxing. I guess that's a big win for whoever gave him his first loss.

That's point I'm trying to make though. The same b.s that Cotto and his fans are complaining about is the same b.s that allowed him to become a 3 time champ. He came up to WW and paid Urkal step aside money to fight Quintana for a vacant belt. He never earned his shot at that belt. He also got to fight an average fighter for another vacant belt that was taken from Williams in dubious fashion. That's another belt he didn't earn. Cotto has been a big time benefactor of the system and now he wants to take his ball and go home because he's not getting his way.
